Anyone know if an STi VI ECU will fit an STi V, or is it the same?
|
J.
The VI was a cosmetic change... I believe they are the same Phase II ECU... But dont quote me... DYNT should know... He is the MAN!!! J. |
I'd have thought that would be fairly expensive if each ECU was bespoke.
|
I thought that two ECUs even for the same model are not the same - each adjusted to suit the individual engine. Isn't this true?
If not, might I consider using a STi ECU on my WRX? |
Howdy
The engines on the V and VI are the same ? Hence the same ECU... All V ECU's are the same... all VI ECU's are the same, etc... interchangable.. J. |
why do you want to charge ecu ?
got a problem with it cheers daz |
DAZ,
I was thinking along the lines of new VI ECU might have a better map than the V. Dave. |
Firefox - Thanx ...*git*
WRX will not be able to used the STi ECU even if the connector r the same. The car would be able to start and drive but .. it will run rich.... do try it. U will notice the ignition timming advancement r different between ECUs . Even the injector and Air Flow Meter r different. Some STi cars run extra sensor...ie. Air Temp. Sensor. Version V and VI .......ECU ... hmmmm... I have no idea about that. Look into the engine bay of both cars and check if the sensor, injector .. air flow meter r the same. See yaaaaa ...... bye. |
Intresting thought David,I have got one lying about somewhere. If you find the number of the VI and its the same I will lend it you if you want. Then you can tell us all and life will be worth living again.
