Can you fit 225/40/17s?
The reason I ask is that the standard size for 16s is 205/50/16 and for 17s 205/45/17 (virtually the same overal diameter) Tyre choice is crap for 205/45/17 so most people go for 215/40/17 (a bit smaller o/a dia) or 215/45/17 (bit bigger) So why not 225/40/17 (almost the same o/a dia as standard)? Maybe problems with rubbing due to extra width? [Edited by Soapy Sam - 11/6/2003 3:36:34 PM] |
I have 215 40 17's on my MY95WRX and with it being slightly lowered the tyres scrub on the arches when going over big dips in the road and when 4 up in the car. Just be a bit careful :)

Come on peeps, is there an established view on this?
Extra grip? better handling? Or do they just rub? |
I run 255 40 1s7s on standard ride height and its completely fine. ;)
