Just got pulled not 20 mins ago for my plates, 'The lettering is too small!'

You'd think they have better things to do, whats more the wpc in the car was obviously just learning the ropes!

Why, was she sitting on a booster cushion?

Oh, and as far as the plates go I'm not surprised.

EvilKyote 02 November 2003 02:03 PM

LOL!

heh, the other officer was teling her what she needed to do and how to do it etc etc!

How else would you expect her to learn????

Perhaps she hasn't mastered being able to use "the force" yet....

+Doc+ 02 November 2003 02:07 PM

I hope you rot in jail

Spoon 02 November 2003 02:08 PM

I doubt if it will be long before she's mastered one of the forces officers too!! :D:D

I've heard there is some dodgy Royal Doulton going around.

What the hell is your problem?

Spoon 02 November 2003 02:23 PM

I think that'll come under the heading of "sense of humour".

Then again he might just dislike you or fancy your woman?

DocJock 02 November 2003 02:30 PM

What, like looking for people breaking the law ?
That would be you then.........

Sorry, but nobody makes you do it, so don't whine when you get pulled for it.

Flat 4x4 02 November 2003 02:58 PM

FWIW I was pulled years ago for a standard plate with one digit 1.2cms out, so I'm not surprised either.

Get standard plates and they have no excuse to stop you and waste your time in future.

LB 02 November 2003 03:01 PM

And was the letering actually too small?

If it was then you were asking to be pulled over sooner or later!

Boro 02 November 2003 03:13 PM

We all know the risks but its a chance u take. Mine are correct size but slight mis-spaced but if i get pulled i cant exactly argue about it.

I did get pulled over a few months back, i swear the way the copper waved me in, you'd think id just run over someone. Talk about the evil eye

S.B. 02 November 2003 03:15 PM

My front plate is to small i know i risk the chance of being stopped but its my choice. I pay my taxes might as well get my monies worth giving them some more work to do. Before anyone says dont care about the fine either :D

The coppers don't need an excuse, they can pull u over whenever they want, cos i got pulled 3 times in 2 days, why ? because i drive a scooby and they wanted to check i was the owner..which can be a good thing:D but bloody annoying when all they want to do is check ur details:(

ajm 02 November 2003 06:52 PM

The letters on my number plate are 4 micron too small - I just measured them with some Vernier Calipers.

Come on coppers - catch me if you can!!! ;)

stevoWRX 02 November 2003 07:05 PM

Is it illegal to have a slightly shorter plate ( length wise only ) but the letters and spacing normal size ?

Have an A2 ??? Plate and used to have a short plate front and back on, (don't laugh), my Metro Gta 16v .. Looked really good.

Goldeneye 02 November 2003 07:24 PM

As long as the font, spacing and borders are correct then yes, you can have a cut down plate.

I've just done this on mine, only got five characters on the reg, so I had the front one cut down to the absolute legal minimum. Rear is still standard size because it would look silly otherwise.

:)

f*ck um carry on i say

As folk said, if your plates were too small, then there's no surprise you were pulled over. http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk.../notworthy.gif Would you be moaning if you got pulled for 39mph in a 30 zone? I mean, that's only mildly breaking the law too... http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk.../rolleyes2.gif

And as for learning the ropes... I assume everyone else on here went into a new job and knew exactly how to do it. http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk.../notworthy.gif
