Cheers for that Hammoc
Gold Wheels Rule !! Im thinking of chaning the little 16 incers to 18s but shes been lowered by 25mm and the tyres will rub a dub its not fare. Dont know that make of the suspension as it was on there when i bought here, very rigid ride, just like a go kart with no suspension at all. if i go the 17s its that old story of the extra inch. so looks like the 16s are staying for a while :( http://www.brianpaulgardner.co.uk/STI/Image4.jpg http://www.brianpaulgardner.co.uk/STI/matt.jpg [Edited by Brian the Sn@il - 11/4/2003 9:51:27 AM] |

Triple X,
is your car on standard suspention? I have the same car and was wondering if the car would need lowering if I fitted 18"s |
these cars are soooooooooooo nice ;)
|
Triple X.That cars mint.
|
Triple X - quality car mate.
I can't wait to get one of these!!!! |
Cheers for the comments :)
Suspension is Leda B, lowered quite a bit but no rubbing etc even with 18's. Was looking at STi 8's and Evo 7's the other day and have decided that there is no way im parting with this, the only better thing i could find with the newer cars is just that, there newer. |
Triple X, could you please let me know what tyres you are using and the size? I have a WRX STi 6 4 door looking at either 17" or 18" prodrives but can't decide which to go for? the car looks great mate!
|
Triple XXX, your car now resides as the background on my work PC.
One of the nicest scoobies I have seen. Jim |
Adrian, tyres are Toyo Proxes 215,35,18. I recommend you go for the 18's cus if you dont you'll always look at your 17's and wish you'd gone for that all important inch!
duSTI, cheers bud, thats my ultimate claim to fame :) |
Lovely lookers :)
|
great example there mate:D
|
but hey, dont forget 18" wheels compromise the ride and handling
:D |
I would say the handling is far better than the STI 3 Type R i had on 17's but that never had the Leda's on so maybe thats the big improvement.
|
Triple X, I am not in the UK and that Tyre size is hard to find, do you think that 225/35/18 will be ok? or will they rub? I am using HKS Hyper Max II Coilovers
Cheers Adrian |
Triple x- what exhaust is that you got mate, is it a genuine Sti version?
|
Scoobysnacks23,
If you want more V5 Type-R's, here's mine..... http://www.sidtech.co.uk/iu/43708806653.jpg http://www.sidtech.co.uk/iu/930167725786.jpg http://www.sidtech.co.uk/iu/921236036071.JPG http://www.sidtech.co.uk/iu/195344919970.jpg http://www.sidtech.co.uk/iu/67653826956.jpg Craig.:D:D |
Adrian, wouldnt really know myself m8, ive only ever used these im afraid, i think some people use 215,40's though.
triple6, it actually a Firestorm back box from TSL with an STi sticker added. Craig, nice motor, i sometimes wondered what one of these would look like with silver rims on, looks well. |
In what way are the Type R`s different over the WRX Sti, other than the two door shell that is.
Every picture is of a stunning motor. Much envy here.:D |
wrxmark,
The Type-R's have a centre adjustable diff and an intercooler water spray to tie in with the whole rally feel. I think the whole transmission ratio is lower as well which aids acceleration. They also have a solid bulkhead behind the rear seats, although I'm not sure if other Impreza models are the same or not. I have owned mine for two years now and I still get the same buzz from driving it as I did then. Craig.:D:D:D |
Cheers Craig. Mine is solid unlike the UKs. Hows the motorway driving? Does she scream at the top?
|
wrxmark,
A lot of people will say its useless for motorway speeds. I have clocked up thousands of motorway miles and it doesn't bother one bit at that speed. It may be a bit louder, but not that much. The throttle response at motorway speeds is incredible, very safe for overtaking!!! Craig.:D:D:D |
Hi Craig,
Great looking car as well mate, what wheels are those and what tyre size are u using? Cheers |
Triple X & CraigFin v nice motors. I think they both qualify as being definitely "COOL" grey. :D
|
Adrian,
The wheels are Tecnomagnesio Detroits, the tyres are 215/35/18's/ Craig.:D:D |
