My comapany has been asked by the Airport to provide a CRC (Crimainal records check) for each person holding an airside pass.
Now my compny also want to keep a record of this on file and update this every year,

So question is under the DPA are they allowed to keep this on file ?????

and for a laugh u wanna see what u can get away with and stil hold an airside pass, u can sh@g sheep or any animal, commit buggerey and even be a bigamist...what is this world coming too.....

Yes they are... they are allowed to hold information on you as long as it is pertantent to your job and the operation of the business.

The DPA ensures that you have access to this information and able to ensure that the information is correct.

The DPA also covers who is allowed to access the information and how it should be used (part of the registration process).

also note that you should have a privacy policy, and also register the data's use with the DPA IIRC.

chiark,
can u expand a little pls, what do u mean by privacy policy ? and do u know who will have acess or be allowed to have access to this info within my work ?

MATTeL 24 September 2003 01:45 PM

How would he know who is able to access this information at your work?

If you look at the registration documents filled in by your company you will get an idea who is allowed to look at which information stored about you.

There is a link on the website to the DPR.

I'll try and dig some stuff out - there's great stuff already in the public domain...

Dazza01 24 September 2003 02:00 PM

Mattel,
"How would he know who is able to access this information at your work?"

What i mean is can the guy who cleans the toilets and sweeps the warehouse have access to this info or is it just the SMT (Senior management team)?

As for the privacy policy not priviy to that as im not on the SMT, im just an ordinary guy whose done sh!t in his past as a kid (7 yrs for manslaughter).....no only kidding or was it GBH with intent...so long ago i foget now.
