Currently you can only de-cat a mk1 172 as that is single lamba!

As you know the mk2 has a twin lambda setup and it throws a wobbly if you remove the cat. So far only Cup's with the R-Sport ECU can run a de-cat without any problems.

However, K-Tec are developing a "sports cat" for the mk2 172/Cup that gives 6-8bhp apparently, will work fine with the twin lambda's, will pass an MOT and is fully road legal, so ideal. Gonna be £250-£300 apparently when on sale.

My car was used to prototype the Janspeed exhaust on the Mk2 172. It had a full de-cat and no lights came on .... No worries. Oh and it was free haha....Was rolling roaded to 183BHP at janspeed

mines the supersprint race exhaust so should be a laugh they can all be decated its jus knowing what the second sensor needs to know to stop the light

ta very much mate will see how it goes when it turns up

So what did they do with the 2nd lambda then Gary???

I assume it's just mounted on the later part of the de-cat in a similar postion to where it would be in the cat?

Is there a noticable difference now?
