"net send".

Anyone with a clue will be blocking popups tho, so it probably won't work if your intended target has either disabled messenger, or is firewalling the appropriate stuff.

how do you 'net send'

Gedi 09 September 2003 12:41 PM

full syntax
NET SEND {name | * | /DOMAIN[:name] | /USERS} message

or more simply for internal networks
net send username message

or for across the net
net send IP message

*edited to say*
To block them Start>Run>Services.msc This will display the current services. Browse for the Messenger service and dissable it. Or make sure your netbios ports are blocked (135 - 139, 445)
Make sure you block 135 as most netbios blocks are 137-139. 2K and XP now use RPC on 135 to do the lookup.
