lol
Thats manic, I especially liked the mobile phone interference on the clip :D |
Top marks to Sunny for doing that. Brilliant!
|
Respect for that top speed:D
|
That wasn't even on full boost!! Only running 1.6bar instead of the 2.2 it can run. Respect to Sunny.
|
Now there is a car from the past, I remember the FRST cru!
|
RSepct:D Can't wait to see what it will do next!
|
Sticker at top of windscreen says it all......
built some beasts that guy has... |
Hi guys and thanks for your comments.
Quick update - the run we done 178mph was done at 1.6bar boost. We were going to do another run at 2.3bar straight after however the turbocharger core exploded! Once I have sorted out the issue's I'll be back there to better that record again. I will be moving up to 1200 or 1000cc injectors and a even bigger turbo shortly. :) Thanks again for your support and comments. RSpect - Sunny. |
nice one!!
|
Fooking hell  I knew this car was quick at TOTB2 but that is just stoopid quick in a little fiesta. That must be a record breaker for a fiesta?
Paul :) |
yea, much respect sunny,
seen the clip of u and the viper, pretty mad. |
Excellent achievment, well done
|
And got to bear in mind that that was at Brunters, so still accelerating by the time you have to slow down, somewhere a bit longer (like the M.way ;) ) itl do a lot more than that speed.
Esp as that was fair way from full boost! Geared for 200mph isnt it? |
200mph? doesnt aerodynamics mean that at that speed you need like another 10% power for a 1mph power increase or something silly?
BTW, does that thing have 4wd? last time I saw it, it was 2wd? |
Nope still has 2wd :)
|
Hello,
thanks for your comments again. As Redkop said the car is fwd. :D Mark Shead who was in the passenger seat data logged the 178 run and confirms that it was only 1.6 bar of boost. At that boost level the car did not begin to slow down or stop accelerating all the way until I came off throttle past the first speed trap. We had mapped her to 2.3 bar boost which was going to be run at the next go up the strip however as I said before the turbo core exploded. Steve is right in the car is geared for just a tad over 200mph at redline in 5th on 205/40 tyres. How far it gets close to that figure depends on drag, power and sheer balls (which I can confirm are huge :D ). Also we broke at the start of where they timed the 1/4 mile runs which was 1/4 mile before the first brake board therefore the runs we done were in the space of approx 1.2 miles. Now that the turbo is being replaced it will be swapped with an even bigger unit along with a set of 1000cc or 1200cc injectors = more power. :) We are now in the process of sorting everything out so that Mark can have the car back to work his magic one more time. Watch this space. Thanks - Sunny. [Edited by overbooost - 9/13/2003 12:37:20 PM] |
Sunny you are the daddy!! lol
|
Sunny,
Mucho respect mate & I cannot believe you are going for yet more power!!! You gonna have to be careful or the men in white coats will be visiting soon!!! LOL ABSOLUTELY MENTAL!! It must be such a laugh bating superbikes etc in your car.:D Cheers, Ian |
So the inevitable question:
What power at 1.6 & 2.3 bar? Interested to know as it must be over 400bhp to get those speeds! Very impressive! |
Over 2.3 bar with current turbo is over 500bhp. Until the engine is dyno'ed for proper flywheel figure or rolled at G-Force for proper @ wheels figure it's not easy to quote figures until I get the proper evidence first. So far we have proof of 178mph using 1.6 bar in the space of 1.2 miles and a quater mile time of 13.1 @ 124mph using 1.1 bar of boost at TOTB2 due to slipping clutch. New turbo will be bigger, more fuel with the bigger injectors + another secondary pump will have to be introduced also...more power. :D
Hopefully that should give you a rough idea of whats to come. ;) The greed 4 speed...just can't get enough of it! :D Thanks - Sunny. |
Sunny you're nuts :D :D but big up to yer
|
Riiispect!
Simon. |
200mph on Kumho tyres - no thanks
Do they do tyres rated for those kind of speeds? |
Enormous respect :)
That is a great achievement. Andrew |
Cool - Well Done
Steve |
one thing to say
"WHAT IS THE POINT!?!?!?" :D:D:D |
How about "Cos I can!"
Respect due for the fantastic achievement. Also saw the MAD sticker and werent surprised in the least  astraboy. |
well done sunny mate :)
incredible speed for a fiesta! nutter LOL cheers Kev |
What a stupid thing to say on a car forum "whats the point" same point as doing similar in a scooby or any car...
