when i click on a link to download anything, i get the picture of the spinning globe and the file ,

it doesn't transfer any info. then after about 20 secs i get an error message saying
"windows explorer was unable to open this site . it is either unavailable or cannot be found "

i presume some of my settings are wrong , but i don't know where to start :(

i'm on xp with aol

any ideas ?

I'm not really sure what it is i'm supposed to be checking !

i don't have a firewall running.

my security settings under internet options say that it is a medium setting.

still confused??
