I was 21 when I got mine, a MY00 W reg. Tesco's £1400 but you need a traker!
|
I was previously insured behind my dad, so il only have 1 year NCB.
So im lookin at, age 21, 1 year NCB, low crime area (CB9 postcode), 3 years driving, decent job....surely i can insure one. If not, it wil have to be the Civic Type-R!! (Waits for torrent of abuse!!?!!! ;)) |
I'm 21, with a MY00 turbo with 17inch wheels and decat zorst. Tesco renewal due next month (2yrs NCB) is £1600. I will try to shop around but i doubt i can beat it...

Greenlight seem to be quite good for insurance prices (young drivers / mods etc).
|
For 13-14K you're looking at a good condition PPP'd 2000 Turbo (W reg ish) or something like an STI 4.
Depends on the mods attached. |
Im 23 5YNCB live in a low crime area and have a Standard P1 and the insurance is £880 with tesco but you must have a traker installed.

age 21, 1 year NCB, low crime area (CB9 postcode), 3 years driving, decent job....surely i can insure one. The crime rate of the area you live in will be secondary to your driving record and NCD. From an insurer's point of view, the balance of risk is you wrapping the car round a tree, not somebody nicking it. A spotless driving record in your three years on the road may help you, but either way you're going to have to cough up. Suggest you try and get quotes on a 99/00 bog standard UK Turbo 2000 before you start actually looking for a car. Could save you a lot of fruitless searching! |
Cuttsy,
Which tracker did you go for ? |
Standard fitment on the P1,RAC Trackstar I believe.
|
got my uk turbo my00 at 21 insured with tesco.com for £1700 with 1 year ncb but they insisted on a tracker.
|
I have got a P1 and I am only 21. Tesco's insure me for just under 2k
|
I have a Wagon Turbo, Paid £11k for it in March.

Im 22 got no ncb and had a claim, ive got a 99 v with ppp which tesco are classing as an RB5, im payin 2400fc
