Anyone now what will happen if I take my STi8 with an Ecutek remap (maximum 2.35 bar absolute boost at sea level) from sea level up to 1500m above sea level? Does the ECU have some sort of compensation , how does it work?

Hello, I have a MY00 WRX and live near the Swiss/French alps. This year Feb/ March time I was up at about 1700-1900m and I was feeling a slight difference in performance. A noticable drop in power and response. The temp was about -1 so no worries for high charge temps!! I think that the fact the air in the atmoshere was getting less may have been the problem. As for an technical jargen I am new to the Scooby game so that all I can suggest!

Hope this helps

ECU reads atmospheric pressure and adds boost target to that...unlike some add on boost controllers which just use a value '1' :)

Switzerland has varying atmo pressure - normally between .94 and .97 bar.....below 1000 mtrs!
