All,
Need a spot of assistance from one of you helpful Scooby Netters with a classic turbo who lives near to Beeston.
Im selling my "SPORT" this Friday to my sister-inlaw (soon to be) and i was told that my 205/45/17's won't fit on a turbo,http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sad/1466.gif due to the Sport having drum's on the back and not disc's.
Well i sold my original wheels a couple of weeks ago as i didn't know this was gonna happen.http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sad/1466.gif
My missushttp://users.telenet.be/eforum/emoti...d/boese008.gif isn't happy as she paid for them.
So was wondering if one of you people out there can help me, i just need to whip 1 of the rear wheels off to check it will/won't fit.
Trouble is i work Nights so it will need to be done in the day, and has any got some std 15" wheels i could buy ?
number

I thought that on a classic turbo you had a choice of two tyre sizes for 17" wheels - 215/40/17 or 205/45/17.

Check out the faqs at www.sidc.co.uk

I have a set of 16 MY98 wheels and tyres in good condition if your really stuck.

I've got a set of 15" Legacy Alloys and wheels. 2 tyres are good, 2 tyres are not so good. If you give me an offer for them, I'll drop em off to you in Beeston......

555-Shaggy 28 July 2003 11:21 AM

Dazza, I'll check the size of my 17's at lunch time for ya..
If you get desperate, let me know - I work in Beeston so can be around at lunch times.. :D

Gari,
will these diffo fit on my SPORT ? sold my others for £100 to "MIDDO" so i willing to pay upto that ?

GariYaRally 28 July 2003 11:44 AM

I should think they do. You can try them on and then see if you want them...

Dazza01 28 July 2003 11:46 AM

excellent m8, text me ur number and i'll call u back !

555-Shaggy 28 July 2003 12:03 PM

Dazza - been and checked my sizes.. I've got 215/40/17 :D
Also checked a mate's in works car park - he's got 205/45/17 :D

Going on tyre sizes, can't see a problem.. does it depend as much on the wheels as the tyre size, or am I being stupid? (something to do with the wheel clearing the disks / calipers?) Do you know what wheels you have? try calling Paul @ TSL and asking him if they'll fit a turbo - he should know if they will.. Failing that, let me know... :D:D:D

Dazza01 28 July 2003 12:13 PM

it was the salesman at Beechdales, went into seeing about a px on the red turbo (10k) now on auto trader for 8 1/2k he then told me that i would need to keep the wheels on it cos they won't fit a turbo. didn't know if he was pulling a fast one, as i said i wanted to keep the wheels, cos the missus just paid £700 and her face when he said that...well if looks could kill, i'd be dead and so woould the saleman.
will call TSL and let u know

i have Milga T12's

thx's all for the help.

I reckon the guy's got his wires crossed... The 17's will fit the turbo. It's the 16's you have problems with, they sometimes don't fit the turbo with the "bigger" calipers and discs. I'm running 17's on mine.

Gari,http://e4u.consoleradar.com/happy/044.gif thx's for the offer of the wheels, but just been offered a set of 4 with nearly new tyres for the same price, so have taken that offer.

Just been to TSL & spoke with Paul, yes they will fithttp://e4u.consoleradar.com/happy/1356.gif

Thx's to all who offered advice and help nice to there are people out there willing to helphttp://e4u.consoleradar.com/happy/1356.gif

555-Shaggy 28 July 2003 02:44 PM

 Take you are a happy chappy now then (well at least the mrs will be) :D:D:D (never a bad thing) and do not want my car one lunch time now then :D

Dazza01 28 July 2003 04:12 PM

not unless u want me a blast around Beeston in it for an hour...hehe, but seriously thanks for the offer m8 it is appreciated.
im in the Comic's / Crown normally every Sat night, pop in and i'll stand u a beer.

Attu 28 July 2003 07:34 PM

What wheels are they ?, some 17inch wheels wont fit a turbo with 4 pots.

Andy

Dazza012 28 July 2003 09:25 PM

They are Migla T12's 205/45's.
But Paul at TSL has confirmed they will fit a turbo, think the saleman was trying a fast one.

nuclear_pond 29 July 2003 09:07 PM

RB5 comes with 17 inch wheels wearing 205/45 tyres. It also has 4 pot brakes on the front. I cant see this being a problem. Dealers is speaking the language of poo

CharlieWhiskey 29 July 2003 09:10 PM

I'm sad to say i do not believe ANYTHING that Beechdale tell me my car always comes away from their DERBY garage worse than it went in:confused:

Dazza012 29 July 2003 11:09 PM

ur not wrong there m8...
