My MY00 Turbo is due it's 45K service in about 2 weeks. Where is a good place to take it & what should I expect to pay for having it done ??

Scooby96 15 July 2003 03:28 PM

if its cam belt change time then c.£400

Eagle7 15 July 2003 03:34 PM

for a UK MY00 cambelt change is at 60k not 45.

ozzy 15 July 2003 03:42 PM

IIRC mine was around £150.

Cambelt for MY99/00 has been move to the 60K service.

Mine is in on Friday, and Ive been quoted 380 excluding Cambelt

this is a full filter/fluid change, and plugs

dapper 15 July 2003 05:51 PM

that sounds expensive sonic,
last time i was at my local dealers they told me it would roughly be £140 and an extra £60 if it was a plug service, (they didnt check on the system it was just off the top of there head.

*Sonic* 15 July 2003 06:20 PM

I questioned it too, as previously I was quoted 180 with plugs, but then I realised originally I had asked for a 3year Service

but the 380 quid was for a 30k Service, but now I am a little confused, as the 3 year one is the 45k service, and on the service schedule there is more on the 45k than the 30k

Now I am lost

Hmm, im really confused

Just had a look at the service schedule, and compared it against all the receipts I have for services (from the previous owner)

The car has NEVER had the 2 year service, its only ever had the services at the correct intervals, but based on the mileage (as it is relativly low, half the miles on the car are what I have done in 6 months) it has only ever had, oil & filter, and a few bits here and there, and only ever one air filter change

So im playing safe and going with the big one (2 year one) and not the 3 year cheaper one

btw does anyone have the revised Service Schedule showing the Cambelt at 60k

Steve

Dapper, I think it'll be more than an extra £60 to make it a "plugs included" service, as you'll find that the plugs cost around £60 before the labour. Take into account that most Subaru dealers manage to rip the ar$e out of labour times, and for them, changing plugs is probably about 2 hours labour! (joke)
They make out is such a a big deal, being a flat four. In reality, takes about 5 mins to take the airbox and washer bottle out and access is easy. Jobs a good un'!

T2000UK 15 July 2003 07:51 PM

According to my service booklet (the one that came with the car), it says that the 45K service is BOTH Cam-Belt and Plugs!!!!

Looks like it might get expensive!!

Still, I didn't buy the car coz it was cheap to run..... just as well really!

my my00 is due its 45k service in the next 1k after speaking to several main dealers and im group i got quoted £190 all in, they moved the cambelt change to 60k on my00.

Isnt the body service due again at 45k miles?? I thought it needed re-doing at 1yr, 3yrs & 5yrs to maintain the body warranty?

Vinesh 27 July 2003 11:49 AM

Mine was £300 inc Cambelt, MOT & fitting Sensors for the Defi gauges :)

snowcrash 28 July 2003 09:27 PM

or £330 all in for the 45k change (with cambelt) at www.subaru4you.co.uk
