Very nice mate

Leather only cracks on old motors and gives you a sweaty cleft in summer;)

Mmmmm 09 July 2003 10:30 PM

Lovely :D

fatherpierre 09 July 2003 11:25 PM

Depends where you leave it?

It's not as if it's a brand new Ferrari and most won't even notice it's a genuine M3 (despite the LHD).

Loads of tarted up 325is look like your car.

met 10 July 2003 09:17 AM

yeah very true, lets hope the scrotes dont realise what it is, i see your point about it looking like an old left hand drive 325, maybe remove the m3 badges, you know what its like though i am really anal & protective about all my stuff

NACRO 10 July 2003 09:28 AM

"i am really anal & protective about all my stuff "

It's called pride in ownership and you should be proud of it and your car. I wish I could have bought one (E30 M3) instead of the Impreza but I needed a 5 door to fit my gear in.

mutant_matt 10 July 2003 09:30 AM

So, how long you gonna have this one Met? ;);)

Matt :D

P.S. Nice car BTW - all you need now is a trip to Powerstation for some MoTec goodies...;):):D

SCOSaltire 10 July 2003 09:34 AM

whats wrong with tartan! ;)

Houlbt 10 July 2003 09:40 AM

I love these cars... I bought mine from Germany about 12 months ago and have not looked back, the involvement and performance on track is awesome.

Houlbt 10 July 2003 09:41 AM

AND they do not look like any old tarted up 325i .... Does a 22B looks like any old tarted up STi...

Paulo P 10 July 2003 09:45 AM

Very nice :D I wanted one of them but ended up with 'grale instead. They are supposed to be a real drivers car but sadly I have never had the pleasure of driving one :(

Paul :)

Nat 10 July 2003 12:23 PM

I've driven one but i think it might have been a bit worn out, seemed to roll a fair bit in corners although it did have god grip.

How you getting on with the dogleg? Love the way it sets you up for second so you can just bang it straight up :)

Dapster 10 July 2003 01:38 PM

Fantastic motor - up there with a big bumper Golf Gti 16v, 911 Turbo and 20v Quattro as iconic German cars of the 80's. Keep the seats! It's sooooooo 80's and keeps the thing authentic though I suggest you loose those nasty headlight eyebrows and get it back to what its supposed to look like....

fatherpierre 10 July 2003 01:48 PM

I didn't M3s look like tarted up 325is..

I said a loads of tarted up 325s look like M3s and are badged up as such:rolleyes:.

Many wouldn't be able to tell the difference!

Houlbt 10 July 2003 01:55 PM

ok ok , does any old tarted up STi look like a 22b?

fatherpierre 10 July 2003 01:58 PM

I've no idea?

I guess you could tart one up to look like a 22b if you were sad enough.

NACRO 10 July 2003 02:16 PM

Have to agree with the eyebrow removal comment. These cars look best standard. Also I love the seats- so 80's.

met 10 July 2003 08:04 PM

i quite like the eybrow thingies, i'f i had the cash i would go for the leather, but then id want air con too, so i guess i may as well flog it when ive had my fun & get one with all the toys, + am having a mental debate about the fact that i have to leave it outside on the road all yr long & it is such a shame to do that to this car watch out in the for sale section in the not too near future

fatherpierre 10 July 2003 08:06 PM

Depends where you live in London, mate!

Bottom line is it's only worth the same as 1yr old Focus and most people won't know what it is.

met 10 July 2003 08:31 PM

i say london but were actually going to be in herts barnet to be precise, ive always always had garages, so its going to take some getting used to, thereis a garage for rent around the corner 2min walk but its up for around £6oo pa a lot of cash

fatherpierre 10 July 2003 08:32 PM

It's like doubling your insurance!

met 10 July 2003 08:56 PM

i wonder what nothaving the garage will do to my premium though? prob not as much as 600 i paid 700 fully comp, the worry isnt so much vandalism, i just really would hate to see such a nice car get all fcuked exposed to the elements n all

fatherpierre 10 July 2003 09:00 PM

It wouldn't knock much off.

Has the M3 not started to rust at all around the arches?

What version is it? As an H reg is it the 210bhp?

met 10 July 2003 09:02 PM

there is one tiny spec near the front screen, & that is all, hence my concern about exposing to the elements 365 days a yr! not sure of the exact model all new to me i would say its a standard 210bhp one though, just looking on s14.net great m3 site indeed

fatherpierre 10 July 2003 09:05 PM

I looked onto buying one a couple of years back (had a E30 325i and E36 325) but went for an MR2 Turbo instead after driving them both back to back.

Went for the kick in the back performance.

Why not invest in a decent cover for it?

met 10 July 2003 09:08 PM

yeah my brother has a spare cover off his porsche 914 as hes got a garage at the moment, it just isnt practical as we live on such a main road it'll prob get towed away  i think i'll just have to risk it & look into renting a garage over the winter months a7 buy a s*itter to get to the station in

rr_ww 10 July 2003 11:12 PM

How much you give?

Houlbt 11 July 2003 07:04 AM

bottom of the windscreen is the most common place to rust on the E30 M3... you probably cannot see the worst of it (!!) which is on the scuttle under the bonded windscreen. Like all rust, you got to be careful not to let it get too bad mate.

M3 Evo 11 July 2003 08:08 PM

Ver very nice but why is the M3 badge on the left???

met 11 July 2003 11:56 PM

in the left & in the wrong position? who knows, what i do know is that it is now on the right side & in the correct postion, went in for its major service & got a clean bill of health, needs discs & pads though, they reckon on a easy 3k miles though before then anyway.

J4CKO 12 July 2003 01:05 AM

A legend and to anyone who matters it doesnt look like another tarted up 325i, in our house we are anti BMW, however there are a few models that transcend the "W4nker" image and are all the classier for it, your M3 is one of those, nobody nowadays has one because its the most expensive 3 series, its an enthusiasts car through and through, the M coupe is another. I want one !
