This is for my father in-laws caravan, he's got a space for a car stereo but its vertical, was just wondering if a cd player would work in this position? Cheers Taffyboyo.

Yes, it'll play the cd's, but the disc might get stuck inside as there's no retention mechanism on the tray.
|
Cheers clarence, does this mean its not a good idea then?
|
Does it have to be fixed in place? ;)
|
I am pretty sure I have seen cd players advertised as being usable vertically, but sorry I can't give you any more info' about it.

Anyone else tried to play a car cd player in a vertical position?
Thing is there is a old crappy radio/cassette player in the space but it is not very good, all the wiring is in place and it would fit in the space but would a cd player work in an upright position? any thoughts please, Taffyboyo. |
Both of my cd changers are mounted vertically, have been for several years, no problems whatsoever so far
One is a Kenwood KC861 6 disc, the other is a Bluespot DJ St Louis 10 disc |
Cheers ss but I'm on about a cd player head unit to fit in a vertical slot in a caravan, thanks Taffyboyo.

Changers have adjustable springs, dunno about head units?
PS2 and portable CD play any way without adjustment. Wire it up to 12v and throw it about the room!! :D :D |
Many car CD players are slot loaders, rather than tray loading. I would expect that these might work, but have never tried myself.
Alternatively go for a head unit with a separate CD changer :D Joolz |
Its for a caravan, :D all I want to know is will a head unit cd player (head unit) work in a vertical position?
I know you guys are trying to help but I'm no nearer to finding out the answer, :) cheers Taffyboyo. |
