What percentage of votes are needed to pass this (usually) please?

In UK politics its a plain majority.

There's 650 mp's...you need 326 to bring down the Gov't.That works out around 50.2%.
The percentage depends on the number allowed to vote.

A majority of these that DO vote.

A lot of MP's who refuse to vote with their party will abstain.

e.g.
40% against
39% for
21% abstain
