Declared all my mods for once with A Plan for this year.
Certificate come thru but no mention that the car is modified - Is this normal practice? or should there be something else incase I get stopped? |
Toby
In my LnP Policy they are listed in the schedule not on the policy itself if I remember correctly and its nothing more than the statement "engine modifications" ect. Paul |
Hi Paul,
Thats what I would have thought, on the schedule, there is nothing to say the car is modded, so.... If say I got stopped, they say are you insured for this that the other, I say yes, take my Certificate and Schedule (With nothing about mods on it), I get fisted seems about right?! Toby |
I would ring them up and ask for it in writing on headed paper or if they have a facility to put it on the schedule, most of them these days are just standard print.

Toby,
I have mods but nothing is mentioned on my certificate either. I don't think the police will look to see if it mentions this if/when you get pulled. They will look at date of cover, registration number and drivers named on policy. |
I was insured with Elephant (not a scoob though) and they listed the all mods on the certificate.
Only brief though - i.e. - Non standard alloy wheels Non standard air filter Non standard exhaust etc. etc. :D |
if you're worried, just send them a letter (recorded delivery) confirming the mods which are on your car.

Thanks for the replies guys this makes me worry even more !!! ;)
