Hi All,

I would really like to know if any of You who has installed a TD05 get this.
I get really bad compressor surge in 5th at 3700-4100rpm,with a dawes device ,this happens at 1,35 bar,and then when i get to around 5000rpm i get boostcreep to 1,5bar......

On my last VF-29 i ported the wastegate ,as i had the same problem on this one.(that helped with the boostcreep)

My Q is does porting the wastegate also help with the compressor surge, or do i need to bring the boost on slower?????

Thanks
Skassa

You need to bring the boost on slower in higher gears - the exhaust side is able to spool the turbo earlier than the compressor can cope with. Porting the wastegate will help the creep not the surge.

Okay,Thanks

That meens that i canīt use the dawes device i just purchased....
Iīm glad that the link controls the boost okay ,just a bit slower in spool up....but thatīs apperently what it has to do......

First i thought that it was just holding a much higher boost in 4th/5th gear, but that was boostcreep.

JB,
Have you ported the wastegate on the TD05,to get it to flow enough to ceep the boost down???

Thanks,
Skassa

I didn't port it on the TD05 but did with the TD06 plus a turbine clip. Depends really on the downpipe. Neither my Magnex twin dump nor my Revolution 3" have boost crept on either turbo but others have on other cars.
