How many of you out there are skint from purchasing/owning a scoob...? I for starters have just drawn out the cash to buy a P1 and my bank a/c doesn't look to happy :(
Oh well looks like I'm gonna have to work harder then doesn't it :) Regards Kev |
kev, me 2 £270 a month for five years ...... but well worth it :D
|
Me too, but only by a couple of grand. Managed to afford to pay for most of it straight out. If only there weren't so many damn 'extras' that I want, I'd be out of debt by now!
|
I'm not one of these people who would save for years to be able to purchase a car outright without a loan, why would you when interest rates are so low?
Borrowing £13,000 over 4 years allows you to buy the car you want 4 years early :D and it only costs you about £2k for the priviledge, money well spent in my opinion. So yes, technically I am in debt for the next 3.5 years :( |
Yep, me 2. Added 4.5k to my existing loan for the pleasure of Scooby ownership.
|
£14,000 over 5 years
£4,000 in modifications in 12 months. Who cares!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D |
Yes, due to a change in circumstances I can't really afford my Scoob at the moment, but I can't bring myself to sell it.
Ultimately I may have no choice, but I'll drag it out for as long as I can. |
Who isn't, but do we care? :D
Les :) |
If I wouldn't have bought mods the car would have been bought and paid for long ago. Had it 18 months and spent £4k. In at TSL next week and its going to be another £2k. Hope.. no... better be worth it.
Thank god for understanding girlfriends who love cars just as much as you do!! |
£200 every month for the next 5 years...
and a small fortune to Shell each week! |
£18,000 straight out of the bank "OUCH", then the mods start :)
|
No. Saved for 6 months and bought it brand new for cash!! Don't know how you lot can pay £250 or more on a loan, petrol, insurance and mods!!!! That's got to amount to a decent sized mortgage!
|
ScoobyKev,
If you've got 18k ready to go come and speak to me about my car. Oakers |
£275 a month for contract hire. I was going to buy cash, but the contract hire is a better bet.
I put the cash into shares instead. I don't like debt, so I'd rather save and then buy, it pays in the long run.... Colin. |
just made my last payment on my scoob 3 years of £230 a month @£7k, it just the £1500 on the credit card for coilovers and 4 pots  oh well 4 months and it will be clear :D:D:D:D:D then to start all over again when i change it
mike |
Surely the thread should be "Who isn't in debt" ;)
Steve :) |
I know the feeling! Still paying the loan on my previous car and had the scoob over a year! Just could not wait. So 1 year on, 2K left on the scoob and 5K on the credit cards!!! ECU remap, gauges and link mods to follow!! :D
Thank god for deals like this or I really would be in the sh!t! http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=207073 |
Steve we spoke....I'm on about 17K for car and 1K for insurance. You said you wouldn't go down that low :(
Regards Kev.. Hopefully new P1 tomorrow :) |
yep me too..!!!
£170 per month plus for 3 years, insurance £80 per month.. Dan:D |
And me - 7k over 7 years (to give minimum repayments of £114 a month) @7.00%, and Ive paid off a grand already after only a month :)
No fee for early repayment, see? Otherwise Id still be in an MY96 and not my MY01 |
£13k over 4 years (3 years left), plus insurance at £80 month, servicing, tyres, petrol, mods, more mods, ICE, even more mods etc etc.
Simon. |

F*ck me 19 year old with a scooby, you must be getting some help one way or another! what the annual for insurance?can,t be arsed working it out ,sorry!
I was driving 205 gti,s then and thought i was lucky!! |
I always paid in cash for every car for the last 11 yrs - there are better ways of financing than loans ie remortgage on a decent LTV house you've been in for while with flexi mortgages (1.5% if you are lucky). Think before you look at the monthly repayments with seemingly good loan deals... after all cars are always a huge 'depreciater' as they are a passion 'investment' so don't try and be clever with financing , just expense against the real finance deals you have ie equity in house etc.
Just my personal experience which has worked a treat (including a P1 - welcome to the club! ;) |
g/f won't let me remortgage the house.
Instead got 15k over 5 years An a mahoosive grin :D |
subimp_tombsie who you insured with?i am 20 and cant get insurance anywhere so it seems like i wont be getting a scooby!!Darn
|
yep, i am, but its down to the fuel( £350pm max, £200 min). Shell are dirty *******s, optimax has been a massive success for them and what do they do...put 4p a litre on it within a week :(
Nowi should sell her, but like the rest of us i cant!! :) btw, just had my insurance quote and its £170 cheaper than last year...yeh, cheaper (my94 wrx wagon) down to£570 fully protected nc, fully comp for me and the missus martin |
