On my way to get some ciggies for my sister I nipped down a side road, and when going round a blind corner all I could see is this blokes eyes wide in shock behind the wheel of his Focus as I manage to stop my car using his as a bumper :( The acutal speed of the Impact was only about 10-15 mph.
Thankfully no one was hurt just some dented metal and broken glass on each of the cars.

The most surprising thing for me was the damage casued by the Airbag in the focus.

Hopefully my car wont be written off as it is repairable but we all know what Insurance companie are like
Any heres some pics of the aftermath.

Gutted for you

Ive just read in my local paper, that the road about a mile from me, 2 ppl where involved in a head on collision, both have sadly died

I dont know the circumstances, not racing or anything like that I know that much, but I believe they caught each others headlights (if you know what I mean)

i shall be extra careful down that road in future

Brun 23 April 2003 11:20 PM

So who's fault was it?

pjhsid 23 April 2003 11:23 PM

Not much damage on the body work of the Focus compaired to the Scooby!
Although I'm worried what the air bag does to your head after that window shot!

Hope things are sorted out, such a nice car.

pjhsid

Ray_li 23 April 2003 11:27 PM

Gutted for you mate.

Start chopping it and sell the parts if the insurance company wont fix it.

wible 23 April 2003 11:36 PM

True :( lol

*Sonic* 24 April 2003 12:03 AM

Mondeo Airbag gave me a bruised nose, and took some skin off my forehead & cheeks, and damaged my nerves in my wrist (cos I had my hands over the steering wheel when It shot out)

but hey I lived :)

duSTI 24 April 2003 12:07 AM

rb5 286 24 April 2003 10:44 AM

sh1te! m8!

how did u end up having a head on? who was on the wrong side???

did ur airbag go off (not sure if u have one)

the focus gonna need new dash/airbag/windscreen also, still good 2 hear all involved survived in tact

Krade 24 April 2003 10:49 AM

Should have mentioned it was a single lane road and there are cars parked all the way along the left hand side of the road, I was keeping left as was he came round the corner and not a lot I could do.

cheeseboy 24 April 2003 10:49 AM

10-15 mph??? And it looks like a head on - (your right and his right colliding). I would hate to see what a higher speed impact would have done!!

SJ_Skyline 24 April 2003 10:55 AM

Bad luck mate :(

Glad u are ok though :)

NENO 24 April 2003 11:43 AM

Unlucky mate, good opportunity to get that airdam sorted though ;)

Glad your OK but it doesn't look cheap to fix...

scoob_babe 26 April 2003 11:24 AM

Anna

Bluescoobystu 26 April 2003 03:53 PM

I know exactly how you feel m8 . Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I have just got my sti version 2 back from the repairers, same speed impact and same area but with a little more damage to both radiators... Cost about 4,500 pounds with lots of new stuff needed. ( thank god for protected no claims!) Just glad it was not a write-off!!

Hope yours will be ok.

SU3ARU 27 April 2003 10:01 AM

Pete - bad news, but at least you are OK.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Cheers
Peter
