Arguably the best of the trilogies. Great action sequences and that beautiful Black Inteceptor- THE LAST OF THE V8's. Pity they had to blow it up. What a waste. Anyone got a pic of the Black beast?

Get the popcorn and a shandy for 10 oclock on Ch5.

You can go and see it in the flesh at the Cars Of The Stars museum in the Lake District.

One of my all time faves films. :D

Love the V8, the nitrous and the mad characters. Even love the start where the start sequence is taken over by the noise of the V8 screaming and the camera then pans back out of the air scoop :D:D Look for the truck driver wearing a crash helmet during the head on crash at the end of the film ;)

Nitrous I though it was a supercharger ????

brickboy 23 April 2003 02:47 PM

It is, but Wez's crew use a BIG bottle of nitrous to motivate their 6-wheeler to catch the interceptor.

"Last of the V-8 interceptors ... a piece of history. Woulda been a shame to blow it up ..."

"Looks like I got myself some guzzoline, eh? V-8?"

"A feller .... a quick feller .... might have a weapon under there .... I'd have to pin his head to the panel ...."

I heard a couple of stuntmen did during filming, and they kept in the footage - is this true?

Popeye P1 23 April 2003 05:45 PM

Not surprised as some of the stunts are pretty good and don't use any of this computer graphics modern day stuff.

hehe, I love that gyrocopter character :D

One of my favourite films,SUPERB.

Yes, sadly a stuntman was killed, its in the chase at the end when a guy goes head over heals through the air.

The Interceptor is indeed at the Cars of the Stars museum, went to see it two years ago,its been restored to the mint condition it was in in the first film but still has the big fuel tanks at the back. Annorack on - Notice the blower is different in the 2nd film to the first as they had to take it off to allow the car to remain road legal during the promotion of the first film and couldnt find the same one again when making the second film. Neither ever actually worked :(

Would you all laugh at me if I told you I have never ever seen any of the Mad Max movies?

mj 23 April 2003 09:32 PM

Great flick!

ajm 24 April 2003 12:22 AM

hadn't seen this in years, excellent film, but all the scary baddies seem really dodgy now..... like butt cheeks hanging out everywhere and gimps on chains!

unclebuck 24 April 2003 12:23 AM

...not to mention mullets and mohicans :D
