Hi all just taken delivery of new 03 (wrx blue) last week and have managed to clock 1000 miles so soon will be able to pass the mopeds!

Engine needs to be run-in for the first 1000 miles.

Don't think i'd be able to be sensible for a whole 1000 miles, it would be too tempting to nail the arse out of it..

Be nice to it ;) It'll last longer :D Also if it's your first scoob, it gives you a few days/weeks to get used to it before you start having a right laff :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Apparently (So the story goes :rolleyes: ) The cars come from the factory with special"running in" oil which is excellent for bedding the engine parts in but not particularly heroic at dealing with the higher workload of a hard worked engine.
After 1000 miles (set at that because it's easy to remember) the oil is changed for the more usefull stuff. Hope this helps :D
