Hi All,
Duracell (Colin) is busy with work at the moment so I thought I'd put a post up on his behalf.

Who fancies the first run out of the year for the Devon and Cornwall mob?
How about the Sunday's of 23rd, 30th March or 6th April.
And depeneding on who responds will decide which way we take the run, from Plymouth towards Exeter way or into Cornwall.

Post your preferences here, don't be shy we don't bite. It'll be good to see the old faces as well as the new ones that have been posting on SN recently from the area.

Simon, Have you got your STi8 yet? I hope so then we can all drool over it and spoil the polish:D

Cheers,

Grahame.

scoobdoo 13 March 2003 08:29 PM

As usual I am free! So when ever and where ever!

Eagle7 14 March 2003 12:39 AM

Whenever!

:D

SimonJM 14 March 2003 01:38 AM

Hi Graham / guys,

Good to hear from you again.

I could possibly make the 23rd, definitely make the 30th, but not around on the 6th.
You'll all have to be gentle with me as I won't be able to go over 4000rpm

This is of course dependant on one small thing - actually having a car.

It is supposed to be turning up in the UK tomorrow and I'll hopefully be getting it towards the end of next week (Friday or Saturday). Iain Litchfield needs it for about a week to do all the work I want sorting before delivery - ECUTEK remap, exhaust, fuel pump, window tinting, change alarm system, fit MP3 player / amp / speakers, fit PSI3 data recorder (think that's about it).
Oh - and polish it!!

However, nothing ever seems certain or simple in this life. Spoke to Iain today and he hasn't been able to get hold of Subaru in Belgium to confirm that the car has actually left Europe yet. So God knows when it will actually turn up.

If I don't have the car would anyone fancy having a co-driver for the day???

Hope to see you all soon.

Take care

Simon

PS
Quite sad seeing my old car in those photos.

scoobdoo 14 March 2003 05:27 AM

I expect I will be empty so there should be a spare seat in my car if the worse comes to the worse. This new car seems very tasty! Will it take away my crown of the fastest scooby in the group, remember pictures needed to verify!!!! 168 or above!!

springbok 14 March 2003 08:54 AM

Tris have you not got past 168 yet?? Light weight:D
Have a look HERE if you need some more power ideas:D

Simon, No problem as with Tris on the Co-driver seat, but please remember it's only a little old UK turbo:)
When you do eventually pick it up if you need a lift up then let me know as I am still gamefully unemployed, It'll be in Cheltenham won't it?
Did someone say Bumpsteer:D not for you for me maybe, well the car anyway;)
Cheers, Grahame.

SUTTS 14 March 2003 09:25 AM

I can only make 23rd, but keen to come along and meet the gang.

softwizz 14 March 2003 10:58 AM

If you all come up in the direction of Exeter I could join in at some point, but with Gill due to give birth in about 4 weeks I'm not supposed to stray too far afield!

Prodrive Sim 14 March 2003 12:57 PM

Either date sounds good!
:)

springbok 14 March 2003 06:33 PM

23rd is sounding good so far.

scoobdoo 14 March 2003 07:29 PM

I like the look of that rocket site, I will have to start looking into hydrogen peroxide as an octane booster!!! Or perhaps bolt a couple of rockets to the side of the wings!!

springbok 14 March 2003 08:30 PM

NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH
Westcounty Bakery pasty seen travelling at mach 2 strapped to a Type R going past Castle Motors. New slogan for the bakery

One Cornish land speed record about to be broken, watch this space.
Looks like you'l need the airfield after all:D

Prodrive Sim 14 March 2003 10:33 PM

:)

springbok 16 March 2003 10:01 AM

So shall we say the 23rd then, is that OK with you guys?

ianmiller999 16 March 2003 06:05 PM

BTW I am Newby. Can only make 30th or April date. Are non-turbos allowed?

Where we meet?

scoobdoo 16 March 2003 06:39 PM

23rd is ok with me!

springbok 16 March 2003 09:37 PM

OK,
So it's 9AM on Sunday 23rd.
We meet up at Sainsburys car park (far end), at Marshmills roundabout in Plymouth.
We'll probably head into Cornwall, maybe Bude way, put your thinking caps on.

Sorry Softwizz but the majority are either in Plymouth or Cornwall this time so it's logical to stay local and head into Cornwall.

Ian sorry you can't make 23rd but seems to be the best date for most. Of course non-turbos are welcome. Once our official organiser Duracell gets back in the driving seat I'm sure we'll have many more meets and runs over the summer. Are you going to Jap Fest, get a ticket it'll be a big one.

SUTTS 16 March 2003 09:51 PM

Looking forward to 23rd guys, will be there for my first scooby outing, is it ok to bring the mrs? As if i'm totally honest, I bought the car for her!!

Eagle7 16 March 2003 11:37 PM

it's ok to bring missus if she is a scoobynutter too! :p

Simon, sorry to hear you havent got your car yet. If you still dont have it, or dont want to risk thrashing it, i think you should ride with scoobdoo as he could do with some extra ballast so us poor UK folks can keep up! ;)

:D

SUTTS 17 March 2003 09:40 PM

Being the new boy I have got to ask, whats at bude? Does anyone live there? How about Newquay or Peranporth for a spot of posing and being noticed, or do you not normally go that far?

springbok 18 March 2003 06:19 AM

I only mentioned Bude as the roads out that way are pretty good and not too busy, and there is a pub which does a good Sunday roast.
We have in the past headed out around the Camelford, Padstow, Bude way, but are open to new ideas.
As I said all have a think about places and routes for Sunday,
Cheers, Grahame.

springbok 18 March 2003 09:29 PM

Simon,
Will you have the Sti 8 by the weekend?
If not give us a shout if you want a passenger seat.

springbok 19 March 2003 09:30 PM

So if all turn up that have repsonded that'll be

Duracell (If he is allowed out to play:D)
Scoobdoo,
Eagle 7,
SimonJM (maybe in Sti8 or passenger)
Sutts,

Dazza1802,
WRX Girl,

scoobdoo 19 March 2003 10:38 PM

And fingers crossed, it should be good weather!

springbok 20 March 2003 06:57 PM

The weather is looking good for the weekend

Duracell 20 March 2003 10:08 PM

Hello Everyone !

Long time No THREADS,No SEE in fact No NOTHING !! :(

As my Deputy"Springbok"has mentioned been busy with Baby & work & not so much"not allowed out"as 1 or 2 personal probs also, say no more.

Anyway, thanks to Springbok for tryin to rally the Cornwall/Devon Scoobies now that winter is slowly leavin us behind,i hope there will be a good turnout on Sunday,i may even be there myself??!!:D

As has been said before"we DON'T BITE" & the local/regional meets can only survive if You the Owners turn up.Last year we had some good get togethers aswell as our Big Southern meet at Longleat(which incidentally is featured in latest issue of BANZAI)thanks to Colin & his Purple Scoob !

As Cornwall/Devon covers a wide area its always difficult tryin to arrange meets to suit everyone & one of the thoughts ive had for some time is to find a pub somewhere central to us all where we could meet once a month,evening/weekend(obviously would have to be ok'd with Landlord)& socialise with our beloved"Scoobies"& discuss any ideas you may have.Would need reasonable car park & country pub would be nice for those summer days/evenings!!.If anyone has any thoughts please contact myself or Springbok.

I hope to see You all soon,Meantime...SAFE SCOOBY'N :D !

Regards Duracell

springbok 22 March 2003 08:34 AM

Eagle7 22 March 2003 11:22 PM
