I'm trying to work out the average speed of Simons world record attempt.
Time is 2 Hours 11 minutes and 18 seconds. = 131 minutes, 18 seconds. time of lap is 30 seconds lap length 408m Therefore number of laps is 131*60+18=7878 seconds 7878/30=262.6 laps. Distance travelled therefore is 107140.8m (262.7*408m) or 107.1408 Km 107.1408/7878=0.0136Km/Sec 0.0136Km/Sec*60=0.816Km/Min 0.816Km/Min*60=48.96/Km/hr Average speed was 48.96Km/hr or 30.6Mph (48.96/1.60) Have I goofed?? About right or near enough as we'll get it.
I worked on 29.5 sec laps & worked out a distance of just over 67 miles travelled, which would imply you're about bang on! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif Interested to find out the odometer's version... |
Neil,
Sounds about right. Car looked to be doing about 30mph around the circles. Saying that, Simon was seeing between 30 and 50mph on the speedo, but as that was wheel speed, not really relevant. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif Cheers Ian |
