Hi Alan

Hey guess what the swine has even polished the inside of the gear box now.Is that to go with the engine bay now

AlanG

You been doing some secret mods then to shed the gearbox like that!!

How much is a recon or new gearbox then

mail me on whats happening

My gearbox doesnt feel too good at the moment (hopefully it'll be ok) and a driveshaft went the other week!

Andy.F 17 January 2003 05:36 PM

Bad news M8 :( Have you ever had a paddle clutch on that one ?

You going to be ready for WL4 ?

steve McCulloch 17 January 2003 05:48 PM

Urhhhhh Paddle clutch = non-driveable

AlanG 17 January 2003 05:51 PM

No secret mods, just cr4p driver i guess

Can get gearboxes reconditioned for about 250 but depends on extent of damage.

No, not a paddle Andy, binned that yonks ago.

Alan ;cool:

Well Lane...could be running to the wire.

Haven't received a turbo back yet, so can't answer that one.

Alan

Trout... 17 January 2003 06:04 PM

Steve,

why do you think a paddle clutch is non-driveable.

Drove a car with paddle clutch in it last summer - and if I didn't know it had a paddle I would not have guessed. Light action - no more judder than my AP (and probably less than my Sti) clutch - and all this in a car with a lightened flywheel.

Trout

Had an AP Paddle a while back on the Scoob - had to rev to about 5000rpm to get the car to move forward.. I believe Pete Croney had similar problems.. change to organic AP and whilst not perfect... much better.. I will opt for a Non AP clutch next time..
