the sony DRU500A can be bought here www.komplett.co.uk (its on the front page. £260 inc vat)
it supports BOTH major formats to save you making a gamble! :D [Edited by Eagle7 - 11/20/2002 2:39:20 PM] |
cheers eagle...
I have heard that reco are the best ?? but I suppose they will be more expensive, & the media is dear too isn't it ? obviously (by the lack of replies) no-one else on here writes dvd's:rolleyes::D shunty |
I have a pioneer -R unit which is excellent. It means I can hire my games from Blockbusters, do a dvd copy and take em back ;)
On a serious note though, I would go for the -R because it is more compatible with DVD drives, although +R is catching up. Also if u have a standalone dvd player or PS2, you will find that they (the ps2 especially) will only accept -R disks (and only good verbatim at that) |
I would recommend getting a dvd-r writer, as this format is comaptible with playstation 2s
Something like a pioneer a-04 |
cheers guys, how much are they & what speed do they write at ??

HP DVD+RW writer and Verbatim DVD+RW are a good combo too, and work fine for PS2 also.

Check Ebay, before you buy at high street prices.
£150 on Ebay for Pioneer AO3 or HP 100i. |
I have an idea...if you all send me a film/game, I will try all the different media, to see which DVD writer/media combo gives the best result:D:D

Just be careful because VERY few PS2s (allegedly a few version 6s) work with +Rs
|
why not just get the drive that does both formats? then you can just pick and choose what you write in.
seriously though, it is a brand new drive and should be as good as a ricoh, but lets you do both. :D if i wanted to write DVD, i'd buy that. if you dont like Sony, NEC also do a dual format one too. |
thankyou:)
