dont remember .ALL being a lotus 123 valid file extension ?
nor the .LWP - is this possibly to do with Lotus Word Pro (the follow on to AmiPro?) can you get a 2nd copy of the file to confirm its not your copy thats knackered ? does the originator confirm the file is not corrupt and will open in 123 DOS ? do you have the associated Lotus 123 Formatting File ? Usually .FMT i think for DOS 123 and .FM3 for Windows 123 ? jeez its a bloody long time ago i used to teach / use 123 DOS  [Edited by Steve Perriam - 11/7/2002 11:53:03 AM] |
Can anyone help?
I've been given a worksheet from a Lotus 1-2-3 for DOS system. I have the following files: something.ALL something.WK1 something.LWP I've tried running it through Excel XP via the Lotus 1-2-3 convertor (specifies WK1 and WK? files), but I end up with cack! Can anyone help? Thanks Andy |
yeah tell whoever gave it to you that this is the year 2002 and maybe they should join us  :p
|
Some of the files have the date 1982 on them!!! I just think the BIOS date is screwed and the machine can't cope with the year 2000!!!

.lwp is Lotus WordPro. MS Word might open this.
The wk1 files isn't password protected is it ? |
.all is a WordPerfect for Windows General printer information file
|
Andy,
you may need something like open office www.openoffice.org if excel wont do it for you, depends how important the file is! Gary |
Most extensions seem to be here
.ALL Arts & Letters Symbols and Characters WordPerfect Printer Info Steinberg Cubase or VST Song File Lotus 1-2-3 Always Working Page Format File .WK1 Lotus Spreadsheet File .LWP Lotus Wordpro 96/97 File |
So in conclusion, STFW :p ;)

How badly do you need it ?
My dad almost certainly still has a DOS 1-2-3 around (dont ask ). I'm sure I've got disks (at home) for 1-2-3 for windows R5 which should open it I would expect. If you need the file mail me and I'll see what I can do. Deano |
Andy if you want I could try and convert them for you.
Let me know, no charge of course. |
Thanks for the offer guys! :)
Problem is that the information is of a confidential nature! :o So I guess I best not start mailing it about! |
You want the 1-2-3 R5 (Windows) disks zipped and mailed/made avialable for download ?
Deano (obviously I will sell my vlaid license for these disks for a nominal transfer charge of 0.001p payable next year sometime ;)) |

I've got a ZX81 if you want to borrow it, with that lovely wipe clean keyboard.......damn I wish I could get one of them for the PC :)
|
Wipe clean keyboards - ZX spectrum style - are available for the PC, no problem. Just a bit expensive at around 350 UK pound.

Jeez, I wasnt even born in 1983 :D
|
Lotus 123 - now you're talking. I hate Excel, only use it when I have to and have stuck to Lotus 123 for the last 20 years!
I also still have the original disks (maybe not the DOS version, but certainly an early version) and can let you have any you need if you have a problem. I also used to have a Victor 9000 (CPM wasn't it?). Sold it to buy one of the first IBM PCs. Can you believe that in the 80s I had to pay around £10k to get a P/S2? 4mb RAM, 105Mb hard drive - pure state of the art! :D |
