I fully expected to see pictures on Subaru UK's website this morning, but there is no mention of it.
Now that the car is in the public domain (the Paris show is now open to the press), there seems no point in keeping it secret. I'll post up some pics and specs tomorrow a.m. (friday) from Paris. |
If cynical, you might think that they have stock to shift... ;)
No-one seen it yet? |
Cynical?
Hmm, that'll be the 0% finance offers on the last few STI 7s... [Edited by ChrisB - 9/26/2002 9:40:04 AM] |
Chris
Did you say it was Cheam that was offering 0%. Could be seriously tempted by that. Nathan.. |
Subaru press conference is due at 1500h Paris time today, so 1400h our time. Is that when the wraps come off?
|
LOL get the covers off and let us have a look :D. Bottle of beer to the best/most accurate photoshopper :D.

Hand up who here dosen't believe that the MY03 is as per the "Scoop 2003" thread? - (with the obvious exception that the Scoop has been photoshopped!)
http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=135428 If this is it then well done is what I say! That's the best facelift I've seen since the Mk2 MX-5 - an I mean that as a compliment! |

YHM mate. Nathan.. |
Pete,
Care to wet our appetite a bit ? Change in specs, you mention eh? According to Evo there will be a change/upgrade in interior quality adding around another 30 kg's .. so 1385 + 30 = 1415 kg's = 1.39265 tons ..... so 215/1.39265 BHP = 154 BHP/ton  To put this in perspective ... (Evo stats) S3 - 166 Clio 172 (new) - 163 Leon Cupra (note not R) - 163 Corolla T-sport - 153 Accord Type-R - 163 Civic Type-R - 166 Also .. Sti7 -Type UK - 180 Classic UK Turbo - 177 So we have gone from (standard) a lightish, 0-100 in about 15 rocketship to a lardass, 0-100 in about 19 (given the extra weight) as yet unseen shape. Unless there has been an addition of a six-speed box (would this e much quicker given there is a wide torque curve) and a few more ponies/torque this one is going to be worse than even on the performance stakes. Question is Pete, are we going to be dissapointed by the standard spec release? Doofus. Mind you if we are your business is going to rocket, heaps of SS exhausts etc |
Autoexpress reckons that there will be an extra 8 bhp, taking it up to 225, plenty surely to make up for the extra 30 kilos... ;)

par isss par isss par isss par isss par isss :):):)
|
Who can say that looks better than the bugeye with a straight face ? :)
|
Me - much much much much much better than that aweful bugeye thing they released. I love it :)
DW |
Me.
I really like that.. |
Love it :D Def. better than the bug eye (although some of the modded one's look great :))...:)
|
While we wait for a pic from Paris....anyone care to do a quick paint job & cover the sickers so we can see what it will look like in a 'plain' blue (BTW I just tried but I'm embarressed to post my attempt....)
|
I prefer the bug-eye :D
|
OK, Subaru have lost the plot. It looks like an elephant has sat on the nose, its sort of crushed down. Does that car look sad too, got tears in the corner of its eyes! The front wing isnt in proportion with bigger gaps at the rear than front and whats with such fkin HUGE glass area on the lights? the bonnet scoop, whats that all about?
It looks fat and ugly, very depresing. :( |
i see i am the exception so far, almost. :D
Cars are getting fatter by the day it seems. :( |
I love it.
It looks even more macho than the Classic and let’s face it anything is better than the Bugeye. |
I gotta go with john on the bonnet scoop, what are they on with that?
I think the lights look better, as long as the whole area under the 'glass' (which is no doubt plastic) isn't shiny like the MY01, but you can't really tell cos of the lighting in these pictures. Will reserve judgement till I see one in the flesh, I hope at the british motorshow, but it does look better than a standard MY01 imo. |
I quite like it. Remember how long the bug eye took to get used to? I think it looks alright, just requires a few extra styling mods and it would look cool :D
|
Its miles better than the bugeye IMHO
|
I agree with a prior post on the name it should be called:
I hereby officially dub the new beauty ...uh...I mean beast the almighty "BLOBEYE" LOL LOL :):):) Hope when I have to replace my bugeye that it don't look like the BLOBEYE. Cheers, Ray Oh, just my humble opinion of course :) |
