Yup, its an oxymoron but with the old currently unemployed status bit, wishing to transfer some money that is getting interest applied to it, to a credit card or somesuch that has a 0% transfer balance for the first few months - the longer the better JIC ;)

Part of the drive to reduce monthly outgoings ATM

Ta!

:)

Eggcard - 6 months at 0% and they tend to give favourable credit limits i.e. 4k to start with.

RBoS Platinum is what I did - 1.9% for a year on everything, new purchases and transfers :D:D:D

The Crushinator 12 September 2002 03:39 PM

I know people who have Egg cards, and are appalled by the poor service from them.

Smile are good people to work with. I've never had any trouble with them.:)

Bexlee 12 September 2002 06:41 PM

American Express Blue, 4.8% APR on balance transfers - for the life of the balance. Can keep topping up with up to 12(?) transfers per year.

asifR 12 September 2002 07:42 PM

www.moneyextra.com
www.moneysupermarket.co.uk
Both allow you to compare credit cards :)

P1Fanatic 12 September 2002 10:24 PM

Had an egg card for 8 months now. Service has been fine - you do it all online anyway so unless you cock something up its fine.

Kevin Greeley 12 September 2002 11:42 PM

No way can you get £700 worth of Tesco points by buying a Galaxy. You get 1% in points for anything you buy which would make the Galaxy about £70,000. Maybe it had a lot of extras?

scooby-si 12 September 2002 11:46 PM

CASH only :) lol

P1Fanatic 12 September 2002 11:55 PM

Where did the £700 off come from????

paulr 13 September 2002 11:39 AM

Are any of these both 0% on balance transfers AND new purchases, for a decent introductory period,ie 6 months.

Thanks
Paul.

paulr 13 September 2002 11:45 AM

Just to add,the Halifax do one,but i already have that,.......it runs out next month:(

106rallye 13 September 2002 11:46 AM

Have a look at marbles,
0% on transfers AND spending for six months
Have a look on Motley Fool
