Richard I agree with your comments about cossie engine bay wiring it is awful to say the least wires hanging everwhere.
Toad I challenge you to find me a nice mint 3 door for under 10k. You try 12k its more realistic. And I also challenge you to find a mint Escort under 15k I have seen them sold for 25k in original condition with very low miles.
I agree with the prices for saff's but a mint one will still fetch a very good price 10k, more than that of a late 90's scoob so at the end of the day its supply and demand obviously the cossie is a more desirable car in the eyes of the general public or these prices wouldn't be obtained.
An original set of RS500 bumpers and rear wings would cost 3K minimum let alone the rest of the car.

Obviously you can by an old wreck for peanuts you could buy any car for peanuts if its knackered. You can get scoob's for a grand with knackered mechanics.

Very little driveability is lost with an eight injector setup and petrol consumption is little different everyday than a 320 setup obviously if you spank it you will get very few miles to the gallon but thats to be expected.

And whoever laughed at a 750 bhp conversion being offered and said it was rubbish have a look at turbo technics website it costs 35k a waste of money in my opinion. Any engine that produces over 250bhp per litre is obviously not going to last for ever.

my original point was- to me the scooby offers more driving pleasure on the open road.
i have never had anything fail on my scooby but had nothing but problems with my cossie.

i like a car i can get in drive hard and nothing will go wrong!

the cossie i had was a nightmare for giving up,one day it decided to cut power to the brake servo when driving,good job i wasn't flat out!!!

the thing is,for my money i couldn't have got a better all round performer(with reliability)

Tony Burns you speak more ****e than tony Blair are you a care in the community case or retarded in some way?..
Take out an agreed value insurance policy on one of these vehicles if you have a brain.
You will also note that the original Sierra Cosworth was the first Production car to have a specific output of over 100bhp per litre.
No doubt jealous scooby owners who really want a 500 and can't afford one will argue that in fact this honour also goes to the all singing all dancing Impreza too.
Nice car Marco how long you had it. I really wanted a 3 door but couldn't find a good one well infact I really wanted a 500 but that's another story

Cossie you pr1ck. I'm aware the 500 was a production car. I meant it's hardly the same as a bog standard Sierra Cos. Limited production = higher residuals and better looked after due to its rarity.

And every source of info on the Ford Cosworth say that the umodded, non-messed with version with original factory BHP are the ones that hold their money. I have Fast Ford mag in front of me now and it says don't touch anything other than unmodded unless you're paying under book price.
