I've not traded up, Look closely it is Silver, Has Bonnet vents & the smokey rear is air vapourising due to the sheer speed !!!

Cat and fiddle is a top spot.
Do not worry about the police up there, as there has not been any for 6 months since Staffordshire scrapped its traffic police and put them all on the beat !!. Just don't stray that far onto Derbyshire as they still have traffic cops.
Make hay while the sun shines......

ChrisB 27 August 2002 12:02 AM

Seen as we best avoid the Walton and A34 for a while (hey Jonto  :p)...

So maybe head up a bit further up North this time like Leek way?

11th Sept keeps it being the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

Suggestions for a suitable venue with a decent sized car park? I don't know that end of the world that well for pubs.

Chris.

CharlieWhiskey 27 August 2002 12:04 AM

Anyone know what the Mermaid is like, or the Winking Man? ;)

ChrisB 27 August 2002 12:16 AM

I've heard the Winking Man doesn't always have beer on!

mike_s14 27 August 2002 10:44 AM

I wouldn't go to the winking man, it might not even be open anymore as it was up for sale abit ago.

The Mermaid is a nice place but caters mainly for people eating, silver service etc.

Why not go upto the Cat and Fiddle on the Mac road ;)

Jonto 27 August 2002 05:51 PM

I heard that the Winking man only sells milk ! :D !

Jonto 27 August 2002 05:53 PM

Also, won't be able to make this one as i have been ordered by the girl friend to go on hoilday ! :D ;)

ChrisB 27 August 2002 06:45 PM

Shush, can you hear that?

Yes, it's Jonto's clutch celebrating! :D

trebor 29 August 2002 09:39 PM

Should be safe to out and play then

Little Miss WRX 30 August 2002 01:30 AM

Check out the thumb print though ;) :D

I should be able to attend :D

InsBro 31 August 2002 12:40 AM

I used to live in Leek

The mermaid closes at strange time's the Red Lion in Thorncliffe would be better, they welcomed 11 evos with open arms the other Sunday.

Jeremy

InsBro 01 September 2002 11:20 PM

Is this still on?

Jeremy

ChrisB 01 September 2002 11:26 PM

Should be. I'll be there if I have a car again by then.

DeanF 02 September 2002 10:01 AM

The Cat & fiddle has to be prime choice, Anyone thats not experienced the roads to & from there will be amazed. Its quite simple to get to, Not to far & bloody great on a nice day / Eve.

Dean

Little Miss WRX 02 September 2002 10:17 AM

Only issue would be the speed limits and sheer amount of police presence aswell as traffic lately :(

CharlieWhiskey 02 September 2002 10:35 AM

Keep off the main roads and you won't see that much ;):D

Little Miss WRX 02 September 2002 10:37 AM

Are we going for a routemeister special then? ;)

DeanF 02 September 2002 02:07 PM

Have you seen the crime figure ratings for staffordshire, You have to speak to a wall at Leek police station which answers back from stafford. I don't think Police presence or speed restrictions will be an issue on the way to the Cat & fiddle ! Sheep Maybe !!.

InsBro 02 September 2002 02:15 PM

The A 54 is the Daddy

Jeremy

Little Miss WRX 02 September 2002 02:28 PM

CW and I can confirm there are more interesting and lesser known roads to play (*cough*) drive on ;)

CharlieWhiskey 02 September 2002 02:54 PM

Afirmative ;)

Cat & Fiddle is not the road it was 20 years ago!:( It has a crap surface, many restrictions, too much traffic (especially bikes!) too many accidents and, therefore, way too much attention!

I can think of quite a few nice ones up on't'moors 'chelle ;) How do you like your sheep? ;)

CharlieWhiskey 02 September 2002 02:58 PM

Lots of corners too 'chelle! :D

Little Miss WRX 02 September 2002 05:37 PM

Don't worry, CW is THE routemeister :D

CW, I like my sheep friendly, vocal and into caramel fingers ;)

mike_s14 02 September 2002 05:39 PM

I thought your car was silver  but I could of made a mistake :D

So can anybody choose a better venue than the cat and fiddle?

Jonto 02 September 2002 05:42 PM

Mike - i think dean has traded up !

actully thinking about it, it's dodge's car ! Look at the smoke coming out of it ! :D
