I am not intending to ride Prodrive, I respect their integrety and understand that they cannot be drawn into open debate over Subaru's promotion/marketing strategy or launch time lines.
It is however interesting that several times the issue of predicting how many people would want PPP has been postulated as a stock control/supply issue and this may be significant to the launch date.
On a positive note perhaps a list of those here who would most probably go with the PPP (even if they are waiting for more info before ordering it) would be useful.

WillieF 23 August 2002 07:45 AM

I've got one on order :D been told by the dealer that mine will be the first to be done after the demo car :D but as to when well.......

ECUTEK may well get to me before the PPP at this rate.

P-lease P-lease P-lease count me in

gareth60 23 August 2002 09:53 AM

Thinking about it along with the Prodrive springs. £2000 is a lot of money though, not sure that I justify it.

Gareth.

LeonB 23 August 2002 09:56 AM

MarkWRX 23 August 2002 01:06 PM

I probably will next year....

- When I have paid some more off the car
- When it has actually been released and I can drive one
- Once I have seen the spec and heard opinions of others
- If my insurance doesnt go up too much

ProperCharlie 23 August 2002 01:10 PM

I think I will end up getting it. sometimes you just have to accept the inevitable...

Charlie.

T5NYW 23 August 2002 10:23 PM

PPP will/may give better fuel economy and definately improve the sound:D:D:D and might cost over £250

Tony

Well thats what I've told the missus anyway:D:D

STI MAN 23 August 2002 10:58 PM

I'm down for this, twice!

I've just fitted a SS backbox to the STi, are the dealer likely to whinge if I take the car in with the SS backbox? or will they put the PPP backbox in the boot and let me have a shiney Prodrive mantlepiece ornament:D

scoobycar60 24 August 2002 10:12 AM

LOL T5NYW :)
Obviously you have "Special knowledge" not in the public forum...zzzzzzzz! ;)
Don't forget it improves safety in the "Driven" test of time exposed to danger while overtaking a lorry on a cone infested runway.

Jacey Boy 24 August 2002 10:13 AM

I have put my name down at the local dealer, I am 7th in line so at least it wont be mine that gets cocked up to begin with

scoobycar60 24 August 2002 10:17 AM

I'm not sure about that Jacey Boy...
It can take some practice to cock things up completely. :)

Stevethevet 24 August 2002 02:39 PM

Have got one on order.

Just need to get the car steering straight and we'll be away!!!!!

T5NYW 24 August 2002 07:53 PM

I think 18"'s and Powerstation Alignment, Bumpsteer and large rear anti-roll bar cures all. or PHP:D

Tony

Stevethevet 24 August 2002 08:22 PM

Tony.

Got the 18s and the alignment but not the bumpsteer or anti-roll bar, car still has a pull to the left (Sti 7)! Am starting to get fed up with it now!!!

P.S. Sorry to hijack the thread a bit.

JGRIFF 24 August 2002 09:55 PM

I've got the 18's, Eibach springs, rear anti-roll bar, and the Powerstation set up, it goes, stops, and rides beautifully!!

Jools 25 August 2002 09:27 AM

Had it on order since I bought the damn car and dealer said I had the first P-Sti in Scotland; drove it home on the 30th Jan. Like Willie F, my dealer also says the "second one" is mine...we will see?

Car in for the 10K service this week, and to get the complete front end painted as well (from A-pillars forward) Lacquer is coming off the bonnet and the paint is peeling off the bargeboards, exposing the black plastic beneath. (Fog light covers, or should I call them the "mt-space" covers)

Jetjockey 27 August 2002 04:06 PM

Has anyone heard any more about dates for the PPP. I've just been into my dealer and they checked there and then and were told OCTOBER! I don't know where I am in the queue, but I was hoping to pick up my new STI with it fitted, at the end of September. More the fool me I guess.

TonyBurns 27 August 2002 04:23 PM

Jet,
its not recommended to have the PPP fitted before you run your car in, id do the first 1500 miles then have the PPP fitted ;)

Tony:D

T5NYW 27 August 2002 11:53 PM

Jet,
Don't believe all the rumours that dealers tell you:rolleyes: It could be out tommorow:eek: or Febuary:(
PPP will only be released when Prodrive are absolutely certain it will do no harm to your pride and joy in 3years or 60 Kmiles:D IMHO

Tony

Ps. believe me if Prodrive could get 500 PPP kits made and out the door to us tomorrow Prodrive would be more than happy:rolleyes:
