I had GOLD 22B Styles 16Inch wheels on my car and recently bought a set of 17in Anthracite P1 alloys.
Edited to say, I probably wont be selling either for a while! http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...4416828772.JPG Any views on which ones actually suit the car. Gold or Anthracide. I love the gold wheel design but I think the Anthracite look best with Silver cars IMHO See http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...5848221203.jpg Paul [Edited by pban - 8/17/2002 8:03:06 PM] |
Hol - Anthracite for me :D
Paul - Can you tell me, your fog lamp covers for the new style classic bumper, are the lamps under them and where did you get them from please? Cheers, Jon |
Ps. for Paul - If the lamps are underneath, how easy are they to take off?
cheers, Jon :) |
Jon
They come with the car and there isn't any lamps under there. They have alway been one of my favourite aspects of the STI Paul PS I think you can buy them from someone like GGR |
....ask PSlewis what he thinks........!
Gastro PS Anthracite for me.. attached to a P1 :D [Edited by Gastro - 8/17/2002 8:13:38 PM] |
gold on a silver car doesnt work. Gold on Sonic Blue is the dogs bollox. :D
I think Silver on a silver car looks best, i dont like anthracite on any scoob, they always look mucky to me. |
I had grey on my red car as I got bored with silver
http://www.btinternet.com/~c.pinnock/car1.jpg But have gold ones on my sonic blue scoob :D http://www.btinternet.com/~c.pinnock/nw1.jpg |
Thanks Paul - who are GGR?
Sorry - Graham Goode Racing! (I just remembered from the days I was into 3 Door Sierra Cosworths LOL) :D |
had gold on my DGM scoob.
looked the dogs bollox. on silver car gold is a no no.........imho. antracite are gr9 through. |
Hol, My taste in wheels has changed of late...anthracite looks the dogs in my opinion :D (on silver car).
I will be changing mine (one day) :) MD. |
Anthracite on a silver car :)
|
gold wheels on silver subs. NO M8.
|
Anthracite of course!!!
The foglampcovers should fit over the foglights! (you don't have to remove them!). Oh, and once you have fitted the covers, don't turn on the foglight because they might melt, OK?? |
Yep, just one more vote in the bag - anthracite. Didn't you see it the same way? Gold on blue of any sort rocks, gold on red, gold on green also look good. But gold on silver - urgh...
Plus with anthracite you don't have to clean the alloys so often (brake dust/dirt colour...) Golds always need cleaning (at least, they do for me, being my new car & my baby). Take no time at all to get dirty... Perhaps I should put more wax on them? Here's a thought though - not seen any red alloys on subaru's. Black cars would suit them best (silver might work?), not too sure about blue. Would have to be a darker red, me thinks. Anyone got reds? |

I am thinking of getting these gold alloys re-done in Anthracite (seeing as all 4 are kerbed anyway) Anyone got a cool paint code for Anthracite ? Ro. |
Ro,
Get them down in Volvo T5 anthracite (most wheel power coating companies will know it!) It's darker than the P1 anthracite, but it has a nice deep gloss to it! I had this down to my old Speedlines on my green MY97. I had mine done in Surbiton, Surrey for about £200. Worth waiting until the tyres are worn and then getting a deal with tyres as well! ;) |
Thanks Andy - T5 colour is my fave !
Where in Surbiton ? Ro. |
Funnily enough the place is called Surbiton Tyres.
Between the roundabout and the Post Office (PO) It's opposite Gladstone Road or thereabouts. You'll see the alloy wheels in the window. |
PS - Go with the anthracite alloys. Silver cars don't like right with gold alloys IMHO.
|
Another vote Anthracite as well :)
