anybody know what the deal is with renewing domains? i've got a whole bunch of domains registered which are due for renewal soon. trouble is i don't really want to renew them with the same company i used to register them.

how would i go about renewing them elsewhere?

You should probably transfer them before they expire, or renew them with your current ISP and then transfer 'em.

Jodster 07 August 2002 04:58 PM

I've got a few registered at uk2.net. They have a facility to move domains to them from other suppliers but the only one I want to do, they can't support at the moment. You may be lucky though.

netclectic2 07 August 2002 05:12 PM

yeah, looks like a transfer is what i'll be doing.

i've got some with uk2, some with joker a couple with easynet and want to move them to somebody else.

thanks for the input.

Can I strongly recommend Titanhosts for that: http://www.titanhosts.net

Excellent all round.

netclectic2 07 August 2002 06:05 PM

but hostplus charge a £20 admin fee!

Its nice and simple to get changed. Speak to Titan Internet They will be able to look after you.

If they're not mission critical domain names, can't you just let them expire and buy them back the next day for a fiver?
Sounds like you're not using them anyway.
What are the names out of interest? ;)

Denzil_Dog 08 August 2002 02:29 PM

or bring them over to us :)
£25 per year for most domains :Dexcept .ws .tv and .biz i think

MarkO 08 August 2002 03:12 PM

£25 per year? That should be enough to register/renew a domain for 2 years! :o

I've just renewed my .com domain through Titan for £100 inc VAT - and that was for nine years.

netclectic2 08 August 2002 03:20 PM

i'll be getting it for £7.99 (inc. .com) a year with no hidden extras for admin charges / nameserver changes / transferring away etc.

i just wasn't too sure about the transfer process!
