Apart from dropping the thing on my foot ;), is there anything likely to screw up (electrically speaking) if I take off the battery as part of the things to disable the car for a few days? I'm thinking of things like the ecu resetting itself or not playing ball when reconnecting, std radio losing stations / needing code (if it uses one) etc?

Any suggestions welcome

Thx

PS I know i could remove the ecu but don't want to get into tricks like that initially for fear of nobbling terminals etc

disconnected the battery to my MY01 WRX plenty times with no probs, radio is not coded.

Tony, thanks for that - I've managed to find other ways of making it undriveable like taking off wheels etc.

found out that new shapes have battery backup for ecu so that wouldn't be a problem and I suspected radio wasn't coded due to removable bit.
