V1 wrx slanted top mount intercooler

I have a 1994 v1 wrx import with the slanted top mount intercooler. It’s old and the fins are super brittle.

What are my my options for replacing it? I don’t really even what to upgrade it I’d just like a standard replacement if possible but I can’t see to find any. There is 1 on eBay but I’d imagine as it’s just as old as mine it will be just as brittle.

Does no one make a standard fit replacement?

I can find you aftermarket ones. Or you want oem?

Aftermarket is fine as long as it’s standard fitment and won’t require a remap

Pretty sure ARC were the only ones that made aftermarket v1/v2 intercoolers and they stopped years ago.

Charm down, I'm busy. Not looking for you anyway.

Just over £400 for OEM is bargain. There over £700 from Subaru. I don't know what you were expecting lol

If your that bothered. Either look for one being broke of low mile import. Or fit one off a newer model or front mount.

Just over £400 for a classic slanty wrx cooler is certainly not a bargain :cuckoo:

You posted you could find aftermarket ones to replace the slanty top mount..... I'd love to see them as I'm after one.

thanks for looking for me.

but yeah that’s waaaaaaay to expensive. There’s a second hand one on there for £30 but it looks about as tatty as my current one.

I thought there might just be a cheap eBay copy available but obviously not.

jaygsi 14 October 2019 08:22 PM

Ah if you want a cheap copy or cheap OEM, will have to be used and doubt many go cheap bud. Apart from tatty old ones. Most people go front mount for cheap.
