WRX STI 2.5 hatch Type uk
hi guys im thinking about buying a 2008 wrx sti type uk 2.5l hatchback it has done 73k miles and im just looking for a few answers....
the dealership has said it has forged pistons and had a remap done but has no proof, it has a titanium exhaust with sports cat. ive been told by a few people that the engine will go bang? is there anything to check on before buying the car? what maintenance is involved in keeping the car running well? is there anything that will need doing as soon as i buy the car? |

i think they have recently paid off the finance so there is no outstanding finance on the car it just hasnt been updated yet
regarding the proof that is a tricky one but i dont know whether its worth the risk or keep looking, i need to look from a dealer as i would need to finance the car because i dont have that amount of money upfront. i would also need to trade my car in the pay off the existing finance that is due on my car |
Is there nothing at all in the service book that will at least allow you to trace back/ring garages that maintained it.

Don't borrow money to buy a car with no history of who rebuilt or mapped it. You could end up owing on a car that needs lots of money spent on it. An enthusiast would change oil every 5000 miles minimum, so you should have at least 14 service stamps. I wouldn't consider an advert as vague as that, when there are so many documented hatches for sale at the moment.

Are you on Facebook?
Thered a Subaru owners page. Post it there with its location and someone may know it. You'll also have endless people try and sell you theirs. Does look very clean mind. Have you run an motel check on it? |
thanks for all the feedback guys ive sent the dealership a message with some questions.
hopefully ill get what i need and have a subaru in the near future |
