rear inner arches color
 
i have my99 classic impreza(792 color code)

i'm restoring rear arches and other rusted areas. my inner arches have black coating. is it original or not?

are oem inner arches factory color grey ?

"Underhood" colour for Royal Silver 792 would have been Subaru's paint code N45 "Set Grey 45" finish.

I assume this would be the same for the wheel arches and underside, both of which (where no plastic liners fitted) would have been treated with a suitable underbody protection on arrival in Europe. (hence the black finish).

i have n45 paint too but i'm confused the car has oem underbody protection or not

no under body, as a compromise you could tint a product like upol raptor and use that

UK cars had additional underbody protection applied on arrival into the UK at International Motors' Vehiclel reception and preparation centre originally based at Quedgeley in Gloucestershire and now at Sheerness.
I would imagine cars came from the factory with some stonechip protection in some areas applied before painting. As to what those exact areas are........
