Anybody got one laying around that they would part with ??
Cheers. |
Also looking for a v2 slanty ARC, been looking but can't find one on eBay etc. What are these worth now 150 ?

I'd value a decent one at quite a bit more than £150. If someone has a nice one they're willing to part with I have cash waiting. Cheers. |
What do you think I'd need to pay for a good one ? I don't mind paying more for a good one also.

He says he may have 2 available. If they look good when he sends pictures I might buy them both and you're welcome to one of them :)
Very kind chap. Keep me posted :thumb: Even if they look a bit rough I'd still be interested |

Alot I'd imagine.... |
Just fit a new age Wrx intercooler which will be bigger than the arc one or even better fit a new age STI intercooler. Both will give huge gains over standard.

Not as simple as that on a prefacelift car chap. |
As above won’t work , a lot of work to make the under tray fit . Absolutely pointless changing coolers If you can’t direct the air flow according.
Is is it worth trying to get your original cooler bar and plated ? They cut the end tanks out and fit a new core , weld your end tank back on? Cant remember how the wrc 93/96 ran there’s ? Can’t see the stock one cooling 2bar lol |

Did you change the under tray tho?

Have you fitted a newage intercooler to a pre-facelift classic ? Remember we're not talking about a later classic which has alot more options regarding intercooler compatibility |
You can easily fit an sti or newage TMIC to a prefacelift. I have !
bit of fabricating, bit of this n that, its been on there many yrs now |
Interested to see what you did, Rig. Just out of noseyness lol
|
Ok will slap some piccies up, i did have some of when i 1st did it but the pics were on photobucket and now gone

An ARC top mount is a direct fit and offers better cooling than a standard slanty STI cooler and is the way I want to go, hence the post |

I dont have any installation pics as they have been lost on the old photobuckrt account sadly, those merely showed having to alter the metal work above the dogbone support bar to allow for the Y pipe of the TMIC so it fitted more neatly and snug without knocking. Apart from that, you can fit a bolted plate onto the TMIC instead i welded mine, use the brackets that are from a 2004 wrx onwards and use the undertray as well, i adapted mine over the yrs for better fitment into the TMIC well here we go https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...023d3c1ec1.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...bd680e2123.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...df1de54c7b.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...9bab7700c1.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...df682226ab.jpg |

Still after one of these if anybody knows of one....
I do have a number of nice rare parts tucked away so could do a deal if someone was after a swap for a cooler. |

I may be wrong but the fsti on a 2004 plate intercooler looks the same ? the fsti is a wrx size intercooler with sti sprayed on it , if so i’m pretty sure i have one if that helps
