I'd value a decent one at quite a bit more than £150.

If someone has a nice one they're willing to part with I have cash waiting. Cheers.

What do you think I'd need to pay for a good one ? I don't mind paying more for a good one also.

He says he may have 2 available. If they look good when he sends pictures I might buy them both and you're welcome to one of them

Just fit a new age Wrx intercooler which will be bigger than the arc one or even better fit a new age STI intercooler. Both will give huge gains over standard.

As above won’t work , a lot of work to make the under tray fit . Absolutely pointless changing coolers If you can’t direct the air flow according.

Is is it worth trying to get your original cooler bar and plated ? They cut the end tanks out and fit a new core , weld your end tank back on?
Cant remember how the wrc 93/96 ran there’s ? Can’t see the stock one cooling 2bar lol

I changed the bonnet scoopon my old Impreza to an sti8 shape and the amount of air that dragged in gave me more boost on my ecu .

Have you fitted a newage intercooler to a pre-facelift classic ? Remember we're not talking about a later classic which has alot more options regarding intercooler compatibility

I know it can be done as have seen it before, but it's not "easy" and it's not the route I want to take. An ARC top mount is a direct fit and offers better cooling than a standard slanty STI cooler and is the way I want to go, hence the post

Heres some pics of my pre facelift with a 2004 TMIC fitted
I dont have any installation pics as they have been lost on the old photobuckrt account sadly, those merely showed having to alter the metal work above the dogbone support bar to allow for the Y pipe of the TMIC so it fitted more neatly and snug without knocking.
Apart from that, you can fit a bolted plate onto the TMIC instead i welded mine, use the brackets that are from a 2004 wrx onwards and use the undertray as well, i adapted mine over the yrs for better fitment into the TMIC

well here we go

Still after one of these if anybody knows of one....

I do have a number of nice rare parts tucked away so could do a deal if someone was after a swap for a cooler.

I may be wrong but the fsti on a 2004 plate intercooler looks the same ? the fsti is a wrx size intercooler with sti sprayed on it , if so i’m pretty sure i have one if that helps
