Impreza etc 1996 Jdm running lumpy and dying when pressing accelerator Help Please

Hi guys, I’ve owned a Subaru Impreza etc 1996 jdm now for around a yr, and last week the temperature dial dropped to 0 and the car started bogging and trying to cut out, when I press the accelerator peddle it sounds like it is going to die and smells of fuel, I’ve tried cleaning throttle body I’ve fit a new TPS and set to right voltage and it’s still doing it, it tries to backfire upon open throttle now and again, if I drive it the car hesitates, I bought the car and it was fine, it’s had a lot of modifications and has lots of wiring and I don’t seem to find an obd socket, I’ve tried connecting the 2 trouble code connectors together and there’s no flashing lights I’m really struggling with her now if you could please advice me cheers Chris

the fact you say the temperature sensor i assume you mean the coolant one on the dash is at 0 then i’m thinking the engine temperature sensor , it thinks it’s cold all the time so over fuelling , mafs can be an issue but are relatively cheap , other outside possibility but less likely is cam or crank sensor

Sounds like your cts is shot but I'm pretty sure yours has two sensors one for the gauge and one for the engine management. Look under the manifold at the crossover pipe and see is there two sensors or one. If theres one I would say you need a new cts if two its just the one for the gauge you need and in theory shouldn't bother the way it runs.
