Further 'tarting up' has taken place with a shiny new badge on the back and some natty STi wheel nuts

Further update, a couple of months ago (rubbish at keeping this up to date!) the car went to Dan at Surrey Scoobies for some bush work and a fast road setup
top mounts before https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...131e7f238a.jpg After https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...d0030a7f82.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...495cd791f9.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...d64eaa83de.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...4adda4e4cb.jpg |
Dan had some issues with some of the bolts will replacing the front arm bushes, so treated them for me

Did he utter profanities?

Yep I reckon so Hedge :lol1:

I have done a couple of small bits over the winter, moved house s not had much time.
I added a Cusco brake stopper, which was harder to fit than I thought it would, very fiddly! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...0b680b9ada.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...98791a0364.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...0a12f831b2.jpg Then a refresh of my front arb bushes and droplinks I went to restore the brackets using bilt hamber only to find that the bolts which I was replacing come as a kit :lol1: From this https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...99ca93f0f5.jpg To this https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...7482118ffd.jpg Not bad when compared to a new one! https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...1804d3ff4e.jpg Put back on with new brackets bolts and nuts https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...51efebb9e1.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...d2ca76c0cd.jpg |
Nice. How do the brakes feel now?
|
Definitely a little bit more feel, certainly worth adding to an order from Japan parts if you're getting other stuff, not that you will get it anytime soon!

A few lockdown 3 updates, progress has been slow as the weather has been pretty rubbish to work on the car but some stuff has been done.
OEM mudflaps have been replaced with rally armor ones Then some STI genomes which I have been meaning to fit for ages https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...0c5152f70e.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...55ec545cdf.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...5153e1d155.jpg I've got my STi boost gauge to fit... have you any pix of the pipe and plug and play connections.. also where you plugged it into on the fuse board. I've done a google translate with the Japanese instruction, but don't want to cut the vent pipe in the wrong place lol |
Crikey now your asking, I have slept since then! :lol1:
If I remember correctly I took them off the STI illumination on the centre console as thats where my control unit is in the cubby hole. Red to 12V Black to Ground White to Lights on Orange to ignition As for the hose, I put a T in the recirc valve hose and attached the sensor to the bulk head out the way. |

ive got from what I can see only one 15pin white block connection under the dash. I take it my wire loom plugs into that.? You've still not fitted these ?? I thought we went through this at the time?? I imagine that connector is the OP Connector and was tucked up behind the fuse box and taped in place with pink tape https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...77c4df5f59.jpg See attached PDF for clearer descriptions of UK/European model circuits accessible using this connector . JDM model version is fully populated. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...c669774e48.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...2eae4d56fd.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...3132be602f.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...efe317c514.jpg This connector along with the "goodwill connector" below, enables a number of outputs, as used for the Sat Nav upgrades that were not OEM fitted. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...bba806d8fc.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...80728ecca1.jpg Only the first 8 are available for UK/European models https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...1d504d76b9.jpg I have the good will connector fitted whose take offs are used for the Pioneer Sat nav inputs and power requirements. These are also used for my DRL angel eye LED lamps switching connections and the JDM auto folding mirror connections. The remaining 15 pin outlet block is used for the JDM auto lights and semi auto wiper connector add on. Your wiring harness has a built in good will connector allowing further adaptors to be fitted. Does this picture look familiar?? :thumb: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...1183a31017.png You only need to connect the top one |
that one just looks like mine lol
Yep.. still not fitted it lol two year goes so fast, I can't even remember what I translated last time. he car is back in the garage with trim removed now though.. so nearly there. |
Doesnt it just, I thought that the lockdown period would drag like crazy and it just flew past

Is this connector present on all or only 330s? Looking at the various model year wiring diagrams, it doesn't show up as a separate page item ( as posted in thread above) until the MY09 workshop manual but is shown in the various associated system diagrams for the MY08 versions. eg Parking Brake / Brake Fluid Level Warning Light System https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...a6121e3b8f.png ADDITION: The OP Connector in this form is also available for MY06 > Foresters Latest part number for version iv of goodwill connector is H0077AJ001 https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...a1a32fcbf0.png |
Good you've brought this up as I need to power on my Zada gauge controller (for the oil temperature, oil pressure and boost sensors) from somewhere.
Thanks for the diagram Don, that's really useful (I am sure you have shared this with me in the past but memory fails me :O ) My gauges will be displayed on the headunit which as I understand switches on at accessory mode. In that case, it would make sense to feed the gauge controller from the Accessory Power Supply (pins 2 and 7 needed), is my understanding correct? The instructions from the Zada controller say to use a fused 2A feed. I just need to find some pin type connectors (any suggestions of what type and where to purchase from?) to plug into the OP connector if that's the case. Alternatively, I could use one of these for an accessory powered circuit? |
