Roof tiles

Aren't they just hooked over / nailed down to batten .

The tiles you show are "L" shaped looked at in profile. They hook over battens.

flashing should really have a lip folding down over first row of tiles to stop wind driving water up. See and lift a few at the front edge, some might be nailed or not
