So is an aftermarket ecu going to do the job because I carnt find the right reciever so far.i don't want to buy an aftermarket ecu and still be in the same situation

Subaru would be correct, the immobilizer module is separate but connected and coded through/via the ECU.

There are some 30 odd pages in the diagnostics manual for the immobiliser. many are just checking the circuit connections but a number require the use of subaru select monitor to carry out

MY97 Turbo model ECU pinouts
Diagrams show two configurations (with or without immobiliser) for connections to Crankshaft sensor, Camshaft sensor and fuel pump relay circuits.
By changing these over it probably bypasses the IMM circuitry as per JDM ???

Hi Don would using a jdm ecu on the uk2000 do away with my immobilizer problem. If so do you have the pin out diagram so I no what I need to swap where. Also would it run ok if it's set for jap fuelling

Your running into minefield here iirc they are purple and with the 6s ecu it is orange and a different plug. Then you've your injectors, turbo and pinouts etc to sort out. Ring that man I gave you the number for :thumb:

Hi yeah I spoke to Steve at zi motorsport. He said if the immobilizer isn't running through the ecu he could get round it with his simtek so I'm stuffed really as it's coded and the immobilizer runs through it

1509joe 15 August 2018 12:08 PM

What breed of immobiliser have you.

siemans factory fit.Ive found the whole kit now ,the 8s ecu chip and reciever about an hr ago .should be with me tomorrow. Then gonna book a slot with Andy car for esl

1509joe 15 August 2018 12:39 PM

Glad you got sorted was talking to Steve and he said he would send you an ecu. If you are going to this expense you'd be as well getting yourself some 440 injectors as a starting point. :thumb:

I don't no what my uk2000 clutch will take.

1509joe 15 August 2018 12:49 PM

If your happy with what you have and just want to get it running leave well alone. If your planning on any mods that will probably be your first stumbling block. Then its a very slippery and expensive slope

Rick2017 15 August 2018 12:51 PM

I don't want no more than 300bhp it's more than ample for a road car .but will my 380cc injectors get me there

1509joe 15 August 2018 12:54 PM

Never really tried 440s at standard fuel pressure are under pressure at 330/340

when I had my forester some years ago they had 440s at 170bhp on tf034 turbo that was before I tuned it

1509joe 15 August 2018 01:18 PM

Would like to think you'd get 170

Rick2017 15 August 2018 01:21 PM

You mean 270 lol

1509joe 15 August 2018 01:34 PM

No you said you got 170 in a forester

yeah that was factory or I think it was 177 I got to 300 in the end with the work I did to it

1509joe 15 August 2018 01:50 PM

You would with 440's but you'll not get much more especially with a TF035 iirc their only fit for about 240

1997 Turbo 2000 will have a 3-plug 8S ECU.
If you're having ESL fitted though, the immobiliser functionality is bypassed by the ESL board.

that's good to no.Im waiting on a reply from Andy carr now. If not I will look elsewhere. Can I go maffless with this set up

ossett2k2 15 August 2018 07:54 PM

You can run maffless with esl.

Rick2017 15 August 2018 07:58 PM

Cheers I've emailed a few people now .

ossett2k2 15 August 2018 08:07 PM

My advice if going maffless and esl is check the IAT sensor has been wired up correctly and (if you have the cable) check the compensation tables are set up,you could always ask the mapper for a look.

Rick2017 15 August 2018 08:09 PM

Ok I was gonna get the mapper to fit esl .I don't no how to map and set the maffless set up

I'm not suggesting you map your own just to check as much as you can that the mapper is doing what they're paid for.
btw
having a cable is very useful for datalogging and you can even have yourself some live data to view.

would I get the cable if I went esl through a mapper or would I have to buy it my self as an extra

ossett2k2 15 August 2018 08:34 PM

Probably have to buy it from esl or 2nd hand.
You could always ask your mapper but I'm sure the answer would be no. ESL maps can't be locked so easy to view.
