To much mate, tell you what I will bung you £1000 as a favour for it! Only kidding obviously! I’ve been looking at loads of secondhand turbos, think the problem you may face is if your spending say £500 on a used turbo people feel semi comfortable about it and hope the seller is being honest. When your spending near 2k people worry more that it could be a dud. If you have graphs related to the motor showing it only running x amount of boost, producing x amount of BHP it may help convince people it’s not been battered. It clearly looks in good condition in general but that doesn’t always guarantee it’s a good one. Maybe some more info as to why your changing etc may help. You say bought in May, assuming this year 3k miles in that time is a lot really which some people may also question. Do you have the original bill of sale? A copy of that would also help I’m guessing. Just my thoughts.

hi thanks for the input. 3k is two ring trips. reason for sale a bit laggy for me that's the truth. here,s the graphs for it too.https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...b8fb05394e.jpg

rockabilly 01 August 2018 08:43 PM

299 is wheels and 379 is fly

Turbovin 01 August 2018 09:29 PM

Which turbo are you going to use instead? I have one of these myself (for a 2.1 stroker with AVCS heads) and I hope to map my car this fall, was kind of expecting more than 379 bhp at 1.3 bar for a 480 bhp turbo though? Good luck with the sale, I know how much it hurts buying one of these new

the car had no turbo fitted when I got it. so may refit a vf36...

rockabilly 01 August 2018 09:32 PM

I suspect it will need 1.7 bar to light it up to late 400ish,but I want to keep the spec c with tmic if I can

rockabilly 01 August 2018 09:33 PM

on a 2.1 at 1.3 with induction you should see early 400,s

rockabilly 01 August 2018 09:37 PM

just checked receipt it was 2100 all in so 1700 is now the correct price ono

Turbovin 01 August 2018 09:38 PM

Yes of course, I have a FMIC and a large filter so that would help and the plan is to run 1.8 bar after running in the engine. A healthy VF36 shouldn't give you too much of a power drop and would have a nicer register.

is it normal that full boost comes sooo late with this turbo??

How soon would you like peak boost on a 2.0 with a 450+ rated turbo,

These engines don't make any real usable power below 4 grand anyway,

Buy a German TFSI if your after a torquey@2grand engine

drischnie 03 August 2018 04:26 PM

i askes cause my single turbo spec c with Garrett GT3076 and 450bhp does have full boost @4500 too, i thought it would be earlier on twinscroll

Twin Entry not Twin Scroll

My Upgraded SC42 is roughly the same 1.5bar @ 4.5k

This could well be over simplifying things but think of it as a single scroll with Twin Entry Exhaust Side,

Can keep the ELH and the advantage that they bring,

drischnie 03 August 2018 04:57 PM

i think you arent right, twin scroll is exact what you have explained: twin entry. these turbos are named as twin scroll on lateral too:

It is not a True Twin Scroll,

Specific Wheels designed to work with the Twin entry Exhaust housing,

See post 10 of thread above

1509joe 03 August 2018 06:05 PM

Twin scroll and twin entry are two different things. Exhaust side is completely different.

juggers 11 August 2018 10:55 PM

What year car is this for? MY08 + is fly by wire and I understand the housing is slightly different.

P1-Murph 11 August 2018 11:42 PM

Do you have any pictures of it since removal?

rockabilly 12 August 2018 10:23 AM

Its a 2003.so wont fit fly by wire without mod.turbo will be off in 2 weeks a i am currently on my holidays.will post pics on here when removed.

darrenmma 12 August 2018 08:43 PM
