AP CP5555 vs CP7040 calipers?

Anyone know whether one is better than the other or any major differences? So far I have managed to dig up that the 7040 pads are cheaper and they have better dust seals, but the 5555 is slightly lighter and has a larger pad area.

Anybody used either of these or able to provide a back to back comparison? Or are the differences so minor either would be fine? This is for a track car so any advantage, even tiny, is worthwhile :)

Mine look like the first option.... just awesome for a road car.

Haven't had the car on track ( or whole ) since 2012, and they are currently on a friends 700+ bhp sprint/drag car !

AP website has loads of technical info, do a search on their site then scroll through the tabs. You can find out pad area, piston sizes, weights etc etc
