Has been a work in progress for the last 9-10 months or so, finally got it back to road worthiness and legal, still much more to come, I have all new suspension bits that are to be powder coated and rebushed, 440 yellow injectors are in along with rcm fuel pump, 3" turbo back, td0518g, scooby worx 3 port boost solenoid, sti 4.44 gearbox and diff, front mount intercooler that looks very discreet in black, car is booked in for the 25th with Duncan at race dynamics where he will fit my motorsport pack ESL,map and dyno, hawk eye brake calipers were fitted not that long ago with new discs and pads, just waiting for my splitter to be painted, same story with the lower spoiler, will post more pics here when more progress is made, I'm not after ridiculous horsepower to be around the 300 mark would be great for me, just want to enjoy the experience and maintain the vehicle now, regards Aaron

Does anyone know how to get the bug eye wagon rear spoilers off without drilling a whole through the back of the boot metal? Mine rattles, and the bolts on the inside of the frame have worked loose so you can't tighten them. Very annoying.

Should have some black plastic caps you remove to get the the 10 or 12mm nuts, may have to take of the boot trim, I take it your on about the lower spoiler
Upper spoiler. As far as I can tell the inside bolt is actually inside the metal housing, rendered in accessible. Once that inside bolt comes loose there doesn't appear to be any way to get to it barring drilling a hole in the metal directly behind it. |
Oh, on mine it's just bolted to the plates on the rear screen, no bolts go through to the boot on the upper spoiler, maybe just undo the bolts on the top u dee the plastic covers and then from the front of the spoiler and cheese wore any bonding there maybe

The upper rear spoiler is a rear pita to fix if it gets loose. There is no magic way (or none that I've found) I think your best bet is some tiger seal...

Hmmmm on a bit of looking you can access it by taking the rubber wire finishing out the boot metal near the bolts. You can get our fingers up to feel the other side of the attachment bolts but I can't tell how or what they've used to secure the bolts, nor can you see up in there either. I'll have to borrow my mates flexi cam so see up in there and figure out how to tighten it all up.
Ive used clear mastic to gum the gap on it for now which has stopped the wiggling and rattling but it's not a permanent solution. |
