Yep.lol. What a 4x4 should be. Keep going even after you've bombed it. Not grind to a halt at the sight of a pebble stressing it:lol1:

Cutting costs by cutting corners.
Everything is made by the lowest bidder

It's terrible.

We should be making the best. Wouldn't touch one and never heard a good story of the perfect RR that got to 100k without a problem:(

My old X Trail didn't miss a beat doing 100k .Felt just run in in.

I don't think it is cost cutting on JLRs, I think it's more of a case of them over-complicating things combined with too much transition of ownership/management part way through a product's development; For example having a chassis designed for an inline six and then later on having to squeeze in a wider "v" engine (Jag XJ40 also suffered the same issue due to transition between BL, BA and Ford).

That said, the steel used for the anti-roll hydraulics pipework on the RRS is very very poor quality. I can only think either wrongly specced steel was used or someone tried to save a few quid.

The Japs also do get it wrong though...Google Navara D40 chassis snapping; Its not as public as it should be, but the chassis on these rust through by the rear leaf spring hangers and split, this has happened on Navaras that are barely three years old! We've condemned a few, one was bought back by Nissan. Yet they still refuse to recall these, even though its clear poor steel/inadequate corrosion protection was used!
