scoobyboy1 02 July 2017 09:20 PM

My first time visiting the Goodwood festival of speed and what a place it is, definitely going back next year:luvlove: I even got invited by BMW to drive the new 530e M performance up the Goodwood Hill so what a great experience going up the hill(maybe a better car next time:D),

Peedee 02 July 2017 11:43 PM

Did the Gobstopper go up this year?

I'll have to watch than one.

I missed the FOS again this year. Without doubt the best show I've been to. Is fantastic. Gotta try the revival too, amazing experience.

Does smell of that doesn't it, wins two years running then not invited for a 3rd.

BrownPantsRacing 03 July 2017 01:43 PM

Mark Higgins run is at 44.10 on the vid. Looks very committed indeed.

When I was at RCM last year, I congratulated Olly on his amazing achievement.

I then added, "I'm guessing McLaren were none too pleased, then?" To which he leant across and whispered, "Yeah, you could say that."

:D

Slomo 04 July 2017 08:35 PM

Not too bad Mark Higgins finished 3rd behind a GroupC/IMSA and an IndyCar.

Considering Mark Higgins Subaru was just a shell at Prodrive in April when I last saw it it's even more impressive.

It's the white caged shell at the back of the photo below.

Slomo 04 July 2017 10:09 PM

It's the TT record car, isn't it?

Not making excuses for it, but its a big car for a point and squirt hill.

Shane 04 July 2017 10:18 PM

Yep, although there had been some new metal welded into the inner wheel arches so some fabrication work and possibly some work to fix the poor airflow through the radiator they had in the Isle of Mann. Think I saw a bit of film of Prodrive engineers drilling holes in the front of it.

Slomo 04 July 2017 11:03 PM

Some pics of preparing the car on Saturday:

XJR12 weighs 900 kg
P1 GTR weighs . . . 1547 kg

Great day out, recommended to anyone who hasn't been before.

As for Olly not being there, bit disappointed not to see the Gobstopper but fully understand the need to keep the line up different each year.

When I was last down there, Matt eluded that RCM were about to work on a new project................. :norty:

Whether it's gonna be a balls-out racer like the two GS's, ain't got a clue.

Sorry, mate, I was more refering to space/measurement instead of weight. Maybe in English it means both!?

But yes, 600 kg more is massive (P1 GTR is 50 kg lighter than the P1).
Not to forget the advantage in downforce the GroupC-car has (should be massive too, even its not so important on this kind of track).

I would love to see what the Caterham 620 R was capable of :norty:, but afaik it never did a timed run.

jazzyjembreaze 05 July 2017 04:46 PM

Another. Vid

jazzyjembreaze 05 July 2017 04:50 PM

Got to say , the chassis is wicked , the way he is snapping at it mid video

JDM_Stig 05 July 2017 08:29 PM

ITV4 are running a few programmes on the Festival, I assume it will be on their Hub for watching at your pleasure.

Bad_HatHarry 05 July 2017 11:03 PM
