Photobucket

They've ****ed us over.

Go check project threads etc, all those handy how to threads etc with pictures all gone.

*******s

alcazar 01 July 2017 08:08 AM

Looks like they are holding us to ransom.

ossett2k2 01 July 2017 09:39 AM

Another good reason not to use a 3rd party to host your pics, host your own by direct upload and you're in control :thumb:

i deleted my photobucket account yesterday after copying my photos.
the direct scoobynet upload is easy to use and no annoying pop up ads either !
Siv.

alcazar 01 July 2017 10:43 AM

How long has that been available? When I started, you HAD to get them hosted.

Dave Y 01 July 2017 10:56 AM

The pics have dissapeared off my project have I lost them?

They will still be in your photobucket, just right click the opened picture and save them to your hard drive.

looking at the site i think they may have tech issues at the min. but it has gone down hill massivley with adds all over, slow responce times etc

stevebt 01 July 2017 02:19 PM

If you pay £14 a year all the adds disappear and you can upload pictures with ease. I got sick of all the pop ups so just paid as its still a handy site.

jaygsi 01 July 2017 11:18 PM

It was announced think about 2 years ago. But still loads of people use Photobucket to host there pictures. Only problem is if this site ever closes which it could. Then all your pictures gone.

Just use ad blocker, works faster then.

Pretty every forum I use is screaming about this - so many project/restoration threads going back years destroyed..... can't see PB surviving this (hopefully) - its a PR disaster.

Matty81 03 July 2017 09:28 AM

never liked photobucket.

BlkKnight 03 July 2017 09:58 AM

Google photo's is pretty good.

scotty boy 80 03 July 2017 10:51 AM

Anybody got any recommendations of where to transfer your photobucket pics too?

TheAngryFerret 03 July 2017 11:46 AM

My Photobucket links work fine.

BrownPantsRacing 03 July 2017 12:38 PM

They'll stop working like everyone else's. Mine worked up until today. I purposely haven't touched my photobucket account or linked any more pics to any threads since this was discovered. I was hoping if you didn't link any more then it would be ok. But no, not the case. All of the info threads and pictures I've put up on the various forums over the years taking me hours of my own time to create are now f****d. Thanks photobucket. You c**ts. What a waste of my life that was.

bioforger 04 July 2017 04:50 PM

feck photobucket, its absolute sh1te and has been for a long time, use better sites like imgur, flickr, tumblr, even google etc etc Or as said just upload them directly on here.

ryn004 05 July 2017 11:01 AM

Sad to see all the detailed writeups covered with useless photos now.

Anyone who has a detailed thread they want to revive, please get in touch and I'll host it on my blog. Just need the link to the thread and I assume you would still be able to retrieve the photos manually from photobucket.

Very true,sad to see :(

And very good of you to offer your help to get these great threads/write ups/projects regain the images :thumb:

bustaMOVEs 10 July 2017 09:51 PM

I'm livid, just realised my threads fecked!
That's gonna take some serious work to copy all my pics and replace them back in order.
I stopped using photobucket a while ago when I discovered I can upload straight from iPad on here, but all the previous ones are gone.
At times it's helpful for me to check what's been done or not, and also documented history.
Arse holes man!
$399 per year, they can close the feckers down tbh.

BrownPantsRacing 11 July 2017 08:53 AM

Yep. I spent a lot of time downloading my pics from photobucket. Simply won't have the time to go through every post I've done to update the pic links, which I suspect is the case with most people.

I hope Photobucket doesn't survive this.

RS_Matt 11 July 2017 09:07 AM

Gawd, what a rip off, my photoshop 7.0 won't load either, says I need a paid upgrade, which can't be found.

Photoshop? Do you use this to adjust the times on your drag slips before posting them then? :D
